Sometimes you hear the news of the bad stuff and you wonder what you would do in their place. Like the shooting at Ecole Poly in Canada. The shooter walked into a classroom, said he was fighting feminism, separated the men from the women, told the men to leave and they did. He then shot all the women in the class killing 6 of 8. He then left the classroom and shot every woman he could. Now, I often wonder in that situation what I would have done. I’d like to think that when he said leave, I would have tried something, anything to save those women. Still, you never know until you’re in one. So it was with a smile that I read this today. There are still people with backbone who will stand up and fight evil and one of them is named Kaleb Eulls
Kaleb was sleeping on a bus waiting to get to school. He had his mp3 player going so he didn’t hear the psycho get on the bus and order it to stop when she pulled her gun. His little sister woke him up and he sprang to action. Click the link and go read it. It’s a happy ending. No one gets hurt because he decided that if she was going to shoot someone, it would be him first.
“…I just thought real quick and tried to grab her attention before she pointed the gun at anybody else. I wanted her to point it at me so she wouldn’t point it at anybody else.”
Then when he could, he made his move. Being a 4 start defensive recruit, that move was probably blindingly fast too!
“…I guess for a quick second she looked out the window and when she did that I just sprung at her. I just knocked her down and got the gun away from her. When I got the gun I ran out the back door and disarmed it.”
Nice job. And to top it off, he seems pretty level headed about it. No bragging or pointing to himself. Just this:
As for people now calling a hero, Eulls feels he was just doing what anyone else would have done in that situation.
“I just tell them thank you and not to do anything crazy like that,” Eulls said.
Kaleb, no, not everyone would have done what you did. But I am glad for the 22 people on that bus that you were there. You sure seem like one heck of young man and I’m glad there are people like you in this world.
One fine looking young hero. Way to go Kaleb. Thanks for being there and being willing to stand up for others. God Bless you.
Presented for your enjoyment, Jeff Larson’s and Steve Ward’s musical tesla coils.
And the Sugar Plum Fairy
Seriously. Watch this guy. I didn’t know bikes and bikers could do this. I love how he goes up a tree in the beginning. Just wow.
Sophie was on a boat with her family and fell overboard in rough seas. The family was devastated. They thought their beloved doggie had died. What the didn’t know is that Sophie could represent Austrailia in the Olympic swimming events. Sophie swam 5 miles to an island where she lived off of goats that she hunted. Eventually people noticed the dead goat remains and captured her. When the story of Sophie hit the mainland, the owners contacted the rangers who had caught her. They were just hoping against all that it was their Sophie. It was. They were reunited after 4 months and Sophie is safe and sound at home.
Nice happy ending on a gloomy Monday!
Here is an interesting story of an aquarium that had fish and its coral reef destroyed over and over.
They named it Barry. I guess because it destroys everything it touches! :) Seriously though. It bit coral in half. It broke a 20 pound test line by biting it. Not your average aquarium item. Go there and see the picture. Talk about a wow. It sure is ugly.
Let’s put this one up in honor of Emperor Misha over at the Rott. Goblin decides to rob a store. Goblin gets distracted. Store person decides rather than call police, he’ll handle it. By the time the store clerk is done, the goblin is probably begging for police. He doesn’t get his wish. Last we see of the goblin, he is being pulled off to the back unwillingly. Hopefully he was in for some Jack Bauer treatment! I love the smell of justice doled out in self defense! The fun begins at about the 2:00 minute mark. Enjoy!
So, just a few things on the internet for fun.
First up! If you are going to try to break a record by smashing coconuts live on TV, don’t you think you should TRY IT FIRST just to make sure you can??? I bring you MAJOR FAIL!

Apparently, Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro are the big 3 in the upcoming 3 stooges movie. I guess Obama, Pelosi and Reid were busy…
Ok, guys, have you ever used lines like these or something like them?
“Nice shoes want to f**K?”
In the supermarket: “Are your melons ripe?”
“If you were a burger at McDonald’s I would call you McBeautiful”
If so, then Svetlana at somewhatdamaged wants to have a little talk with you…
Now, I know they say that diamonds are a girls best friend, but I beg to differ. This guy is a girls best friend. No words to describe it but at the 50 second mark, he’ll be Mr. Popular.

Jason Hawkes is a photographer who specializes in “in flight” pictures. Basically, he straps himself to the bottom of a helicopter and takes pictures. Here are 2 of his incredible “London at Night” series. A one page version of some of the 48 pictures can be seen here.
Check out his work. It’s absolutely incredible.
Doug Ross at director blue has a neat set of pictures. They detail that millisecond moment before the incredible pain wracks the body. These can’t be missed. So go here and check them out, especially the last one!
Go there and check them out. Especially the last one! You won’t be sorry.
Discovery Channel has a show where they show things in slow motion. They did a show on how a dog drinks water. Too cool. I always thought they simply scooped the water up into their mouths. I was right, but wrong as well. Take a look.
Thank you, Sean Hackbarth — I’ve been waiting impatiently for this SNL giraffes video to appear on teh internets!
God, that’s awesome.
No, I’m not really back - the blogosphere still makes me violently ill with all the stupid bullshit and rabid, deranged libtards. (Go to hell, Obamabots!) I just wanted to post this (God’s gift to) video and delete some stupid troll droppings from moderation — because I can. Suck it up, Greg and other Obamabots — the others might be nice and approve your drivel while I’m away, but when I’m here, you can forget it. I’m away from the blogosphere because I can get more than my daily recommended allowance of dishonest bullshit just by watching David Axelrod and the other Obama goons on teevee. I don’t need to see the same shit spewed by a bunch of retarded losers pounding on keyboards, but thanks for your contribution anyway. I’m sure you trolls have provided my friends here and elsewhere with many hours of rollicking laughter. :P
I’ll be here for the Election Night live-blogging/chat. Delicate sensibilities should be left at the door. I’ll be sooo glad for this excruciatingly long election to be over! In the meantime, I’ll be busy calling people to get out the vote. WILL YOU? Do it, or shut up. (That’s another reason I’m over blogging - too much talk, waaaay too little ACTION.)
USE YOUR BRAIN, VOTE MCCAIN!
In a prior post on the dog show, I mentioned how dumb beagles are. In the comments, Verlin Martin told me “You just have a dumb beagle”. After seeing this video from Boortz, I guess I have to agree. I think it’s a beagle that stars in this, but I’m not posative. Anyway, if it is, I will have to admit that I just have a dumb beagle.
Priceless.
Remember this post? The lady who rescued a lion and the lion remembered her? Well, I thought it would be a once in my lifetime story. Err, not so much. The sequel goes like this: Anthony Bourke and John Rendall buy a lonely baby lion cub and decide to raise him. The vicar at the local church says they can use the church grounds to exercise him and play with him. However, soon he grows too big for them and is introduced back into the wild. A year later, they want to go to see him. They are told he is the leader of his pack and completely wild and should not go. They go anyway. Watch and be moved.
Watch it through. If you were moved by the first one, you’ll cry over this one. The sheer joy expressed in the face of that lion is amazing.
Ok, Here’s the latest from the Nightly Potato folks. It’s a teaser for their new episode called ratings week. Couric is hysterical…
two from our friends at the Moxaragon Group:
First Xran explains high oil prices.
Second, with all the questions about Obama’s birth certificate, the Moxaragon Group has uncovered the true scandal, Obama’s real father!
Next, you have a homework assignment. Make a democrat joke title from this clip and leave it in comments.
Finally, funny as heck, George Takei on homophobia (saw it on Boortz’ site):
Have a good night!
