Demonstrating that mathematics and naked ambition are not always compatible, the gibbering wreck formerly known as Hillary Clinton declares her intention to soldier on.

Clinton made reference to her interview with USA Today where she said “Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

Either this woman knows something we don’t, or is no longer in control of her faculties - she cannot overhaul teh Obamessiah™ in either delegates or the popular vote unless the Michigan and Florida delegations are apportioned 100% in her favor; which can only happen if she takes the fight to the credentials committee at the convention. If she controls that committee, which it is alleged she does, and they are prepared to ram through such a rule change, which I suppose they might, then she becomes the first nominee to lose a Presidential election in July.

It’s hard to imagine even the Democrats being so staggeringly stupid, but one never knows. What I do know is that if a Republican had used the words that Hillarious did to describe her target voter, they’d be hounded out of town by 8 o’clock tonight.

Iran and syria are at it again

Lebanaon looks set to explode. Again.

Clashes broke out in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley today as rival factions prepared for what many in the country feared would be a bloody showdown between the Government and the Shia group, Hezbollah.

At least one person was killed when fighting broke out in a mixed Sunni and Shia neighbourhood near the Bekaa town of Chtaura as supporters of Hezbollah and the allied Amal Movement fought partisans of the pro-Government Future Movement.

Uh-oh! Methinks perchance Messrs Carter and Obama are needed to smooth things through with a bit of hope and, errrm, some change, and some talking to enemies, and stuff.

Last night, Sheikh Rashid Qabbani, the Sunni mufti of Lebanon, delivered unusually harsh criticism of Hezbollah, describing the party as an “armed gang of outlaws that have carried out the ugliest attacks against the citizens and their safety”.

An armed gang of outlaws! WHAT???? These people are legitimately-elected representatives of the people!! Or perhaps he’s absolutely right, and the scales are falling from the eyes of the people regarding radical Islamism - Lebanon could actually become, together with Iraq, a bulwark in the fight against these barbaric savages, if they tough it out and destroy the rag-tag gangs who actually do the fighting (Hezbollah will of course deploy their very own Comical Ali to hail the great military victories of their street thugs, all the while downplaying the actuality of Lebanese troops shooting them like fish in a barrel).

The Higher Shiite Council, the leading authority for Lebanese Shia, today accused the Government of “bias” and blaming it for triggering the crisis.

Triggering it by not capitulating to the threats of a bunch of seventh-century hoodlums, one assumes?

But Marwan Hamade, the Minister of Telecommunications, told The Times that the Government had no intention of rescinding its decisions.

“Hezbollah has unmasked itself. It is not a resistance movement, but a militia trying to take power in Lebanon,” he said.

Quite so, old chap, quite so. The only part you need to add is ‘funded by a pencil-necked weirdo and a grinning midget psychopath from the Axis of Evil’.

Michael Moore has given teh Obamessiah™ sumthin’ he don’t want: His endorsement!!!

Seems like if you were sitting in the front row when haughty, French-looking Senator Jean Le Kerry reported for duty (hurl) in 2004, you’re likely to go for Barry H Obama.

Moore endorsed Obama in a 1,100-word posting on his Web site Monday. It includes praise for the Illinois senator and harsh words for Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic Party and the Bush administration.

Obama’s disciples will undoubtedly be trying to crash the Moore server, hoping news of the great man’s endorsement doesn’t reach any typical white people, fearing the brown folks and clinging to their guns and bibles.

Moore goes on in his typically understated moderate style:

“What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change,” Moore writes. “My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate.”

The 54-year-old Oscar-winning filmmaker was hardly as kind to Clinton.

“Over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting,” he writes, saying that she has tried to “smear” Obama, “Like you were nuts. Like you were a bigot stoking the fires of stupidity.”

Obama, The Movement™. Wow!! I’m thinking of joining this cult myself!!

But, talking of bigots stoking the fires of stupidity, Moore admits to the cause of his probable brain injuries, which undoubtedly lead to his political tourette’s syndrome:

“I, like the majority of Americans, have been pummeled senseless for eight long years,” he writes. “That’s why I will join millions of citizens and stagger into the voting booth come November, like a boxer in the 12th round, all bloodied and bruised with one eye swollen shut, looking for the only thing that matters - that big ’D’ on the ballot.”

The biggest ‘D’ should be on your hat, you unhinged hateful loser, if the actions of your government ‘pummel you senseless’ but you stay and take it.

Clinton repulsed me, but I never felt bloodied or bruised. Just a little grubby, itchy, and in need of a good shower.

I cannot help myself. Even though teh Obamessiah™ is now almost certain to be the opponent in November, I still seek out and laugh at examples of lefty columnists writing plain truths that we have known for years about Hillary! Like they have some sort of amazing insight!!

This time it’s the unerringly pompous Richard Cohen, who reveals some blindingly obvious facts about Hillary - namely that she couldn’t tell truth from a broomhandle up her arse, a truism which he’s only just noticed: oh but by the way, Hillary’s lying is Bush’s fault!!

The story was just plain nuts — and Clinton herself has been at a loss to explain it. But for many voters, it encapsulated their suspicion, their anxiety, their hesitation about Clinton: She lies.

NEVER!!!! Really??????

…but let me suggest Bush’s “worst legacy” is what he has done to whatever trust Americans still had in their government. This administration’s incessant lying, its secrecy — its creepy Cheneyism with its petty justifications for torture and violation of privacy — is its worst legacy, one that will endure long after Wal-Mart opens a branch in Sadr City. Only an idiot would trust this government.

See? Hillary is a liar because Bush secretly tortured Iraqi children and listened to their cellphone conversations in Dick Cheney’s basement. It’s not hard!!

And that Wal-Mart gag? Comedy gold.

Maybe we could have Ricardo Cohen’s views on the secrecy surrounding Vince Foster turning up, ahem, dead, in the White House Counsel’s Office. I won’t wait for that little gem.

Errrm, but incessant lying, Little Richard? With not one example cited? Not one???Surely if the lying were so ‘incessant’ we might be treated to a little ‘for instance’ by a writer of Mr Cohen’s (self) importance? Mais non. Rien.

He does include one HUMDINGER in his final paragraph, though; revealing the feelings of 60% of Americans (who have felt this way for 16 years, while Dick Cohen was rubbing himself at the thought of Bill’s Great Works™):

The consensus among scientists is that long-term temperature rises since 1880 can only be explained by greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide, caused by human activity.

Can only be explained……..by carbon dioxide (which is a result of higher temperatures, not a trigger for) caused by human activity. Even though cows fart more ‘greenhouse gases’ than the entire motor vehicle fleet of the human race.

So you see it’s a no-lose proposition - it’s man-made when the climate ‘changes’, except when it’s cooler………and then it’s………………………..LA NINA!!!!!!

Either the people who recycle this tripe know it’s baloney, or there are a huge number of bovine, credulous dupes in the world.

The BBC prints a story that numerous other writers have ripped to shreds so I don’t have to. Suffice to say it’s choc full of internal contradictions and unasked (let alone answered) questions.

Like, if natural phenomenons like La Nina can be the sole attributed cause of a cooling trend, then why not a warming one?

The reporter’s bias is palpable:

This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.

But experts say we are still clearly in a long-term warming trend - and they forecast a new record high temperature within five years.

(Which experts, btw? Names, bona fides?)

No change since 1998, when the world was on the brink of catastrophe? No change, at all? None?

The uninitiated could conclude that global warmingism might be a figment of some charlatans imagination.

The gloss placed upon teh Obamessiah’s meanderings is starting to wear off under not-very-severe scrutiny by one or two folks in the MSM - the irritation felt by the Clintonistas as they lose to this absolute lightweight becomes more understandable (and therefore more delicious) each day.

He will indeed hear out the obscurantist regimes that plot against U.S. citizens, allies, and interests, just as he sat still while his obscurantist preacher fulminated against “white America.” Will he manage to persuade his interlocutors in Tehran and Damascus to modify their behavior in Iraq, Lebanon, the Persian Gulf, Israel, and the Palestinian territories? Of course not. He was incapable of convincing a man he has known for two decades, who married him and baptized his two daughters, that his employer, the government of the United States, did not create HIV to kill African Americans.

Ouch.

Especially when delivered by John McCain in the course of a debate. This young man is going to get beaten like a rented mule.

TalkLeft runs a piece about the whole Florida/Hillary/Michigan/Obama/Dean/Credentials/Blah Blah Blah codswallop:

I am completely unimpressed by Howard Dean’s statement about seating the Florida delegates today.

Seating the delegates at the convention is not the same thing as allowing their votes to count in picking the party’s nominee. Timing is everything. If the delegates aren’t seated until the convention in August, it will be too late for them to have a role in choosing the nominee.

Errrrm. Didn’t the DNC tell the State parties that their delegations wouldn’t be seated if they scheduled their primary prior to a certain date, and didn’t the State parties go ahead and ignore them?

VP Are they stupid, or what? Well, for answers to that and many other questions concerning the mindset of the average reader at TalkLeft, have a breeze through comments!!! It’s a veritable bouillabaisse of panting loons, bovine automatons and raging bomb-throwers:

VP isn’t an important enough position for Hillary in my opinion. I’ve seen the idea floated of arranging things so she became the senate majority leader. Then she’d be the main person Obama would have to deal with in the senate to get legislation through.

Two words that just might derail this idea: Harry. Reid.

That’s like saying reality has a liberal bias because it doesn’t have any elements that favor republicans.

Yeah, right. Go and read it all; they make your hair stand on end - if they weren’t all employed as Community Outreach Workers and Green Transport Co-Ordinators for local governments, real people might actually have to deal with these freaks!!

Economic genius Hillary Clinton wants to ‘create’ 3 million infrastructure jobs, starting with a $10 billion emergency repair fund to address immediate safety concerns. Yeah, I know. $10 billion would be $3,333 per job, which is probably more than her campaign staff have been getting lately, but not enough to tempt the average ex-manufacturing worker off the dole. (No mention of how this rather round-sounding number was arrived at, but some proper highway safety and structures experts like Hillary probably came up with it).

“President Bush has stood by and watched as we’ve lost 3 million manufacturing jobs. And he’s done nothing about the loopholes in our tax code that actually encourage companies to ship jobs overseas,” Clinton said. “It’s time for a different approach.”

Those are not loopholes Hillary. Businesses locate where the economic conditions are most favorable for their shareholders, customers and employees. If taxes on businesses are higher in the United States than elsewhere, and a better deal can be had for shareholders, customers and employees by relocating, then that’s what will happen. It’s really not terribly hard to figure out, unless of course you’re an idiot liberal.

Clinton also called for a long-term commitment to a modern infrastructure, including a $60 billion infrastructure bank to evaluate highway construction projects that she proposed last year.

And this would be financed by higher taxes, one assumes? So, she’s proposing to increase the cost of living, working and doing business in the United States at a time when economic growth has virtually halted. Again, not terribly hard to figure out what the effect of this would be, unless of course you’re an idiot liberal.

She also called for expanding public transit networks to the tune of $1.5 billion a year, and said she wants to use eco-friendly methods in the construction process, including the used of recycled materials in the building process.

The construction industry is already a huge recycler - steel, copper, gypsum, even carpet and ceiling tile, is salvaged and reused in the normal course of events. It’s like saying she wants to introduce food into restaurants. As usual, the market is already addressing the issue while an idiot liberal talks.

I know teh Obamessiah™ is probably going to be the Democrat nominee, but I think she could still win; Based upon experience of these two disgusting, shameless parasites, I am not prepared to declare the Clinton monster dead until the head is beaten in and the corpse is burned.

And right now the toe is still twitching.

This story would never have seen the light of day in a previous time. But now the media are in full swoon over teh Obamessiah™, and these stories are ten-a-penny.

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign manager, Maggie Williams, earned about $200,000 on the board of a Long Island subprime lender that charged prepayment penalties - a practice that Clinton, a critic of the subprime industry, now seeks to eliminate.

Notwithstanding that the ‘practice’ being referred to is entirely legal (and for many lenders makes perfect sense; if you originate loans and sell them on for the initial fees, then prepayment penalties are simply gravy, but if you finance your own loans at sensible loan-time fees, then you don’t want somebody getting out of their loan after 6 months, because it costs you money - the making of which is the raison d’etre for business), it’s pretty funny that the MSM would air this non-story when they turned a blind eye to much worse and far more egregious examples of malfeasance during the Clinton era.

But anyhoo, I still LOVE IT.

For added piquancy the story contains references to Hillary’s arse-about-face business worldview, which merely enhances the schadenfreudic vibrations I experience when reading it! par example:

“I would eliminate the prepayment penalties that lead to such high rates of default,” Clinton said in a March 24 speech at the University of Pennsylvania. “I would require lenders to take into account the borrower’s ability to pay property taxes and insurance fees when deciding whether to make a loan in the first place.”

Wow! If only they had got someone with your incredible perspicacity before they lent the money!

The problem is not a micro problem. It’s a macro problem created by bundling piss-poor loans and flogging them to idiotic Wall Street chavs with no idea what they were buying. The fault originates with the market and will be resolved (as usual) by the market.

cbs sniper fire threatens more hillary damage

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

So sayeth CBS News, who run a rather unflattering side-by-side comparison of video shot during the infamous Tuzla visit with Hillary’s recent description of the same. Suffice to say you don’t see much running for cover or visible signs of any looming sniper threat.

The CBS footage making the rounds clearly refutes the former first lady’s claim that she had to run for cover from sniper fire when she got off the plane in Bosnia. There was no sniper fire. In fact, dignitaries greeted Mrs. Clinton and her daughter Chelsea on the tarmac. She then had a photo-op posing with soldiers. She and Chelsea were mingling, leisurely, with dignitaries and others at the airport ceremony.

Meanwhile Chelsea Clinton, who was 16 at the time of the derring-do mission, gave a non-answer-answer to a question about snipers today and was promptly whooped and clapped by a bunch of Clintonista partisans, who clearly don’t see why pretending to have experience and actually having it should be treated as different.

I’m actually a fan of Operation Chaos and hope that Hillary continues her futile campaign for the nomination. But I do like it when her naked lies are exposed and laughed at.

This should be the first of several persons who can debunk the idiotic idea that she was ‘deeply involved’ in everything the Clinton White House did.

Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a “wee bit silly” for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province.

It gets worse for her:

“I don’t know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton] going around,” he said. Her recent statements about being deeply involved were merely “the sort of thing people put in their canvassing leaflets” during elections. “She visited when things were happening, saw what was going on, she can certainly say it was part of her experience. I don’t want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player.”

OUCH!!!!! At least her imagination is intact though.

“I remember a meeting that I pulled together in Belfast, in the town hall there, bringing together for the first time Catholics and Protestants from both traditions, having them sitting a room where they had never been before with each other because they don’t go to school together, they don’t live together and it was only in large measure because I really asked them to come that they were there.

“And I wasn’t sure it was going to be very successful and finally a Catholic woman on one side of the table said, ’You know, every time my husband leaves for work in the morning I worry he won’t come home at night.

“And then a Protestant woman on the other side said, ’Every time my son tries to go out at night I worry he won’t come home again’. And suddenly instead of seeing each other as caricatures and stereotypes they saw each other as human beings and the slow, hard work of peace-making could move forward.”

Impressive stuff, eh?

There is no record of a meeting at Belfast City Hall, though Mrs Clinton attended a ceremony there when her husband turned on the Christmas tree lights in November 1995. The former First Lady appears to be referring a 50-minute event the same day, arranged by the US Consulate, the same day at the Lamp Lighter Café on the city’s Ormeau Road.

The “Belfast Telegraph” reported the next day that the café meeting was crammed with reporters, cameramen and Secret Service agents. Conversation “seemed a little bit stilted, a little prepared at times” and Mrs Clinton admired a stainless steel tea pot, which was duly given to her, for keeping the brew “so nice and hot”.
