Now here’s an endorsement Obama can be proud of:
… the Hamas terrorist organization has expressed the “hope” that Senator Barack Hussein Obama will win the presidential elections and change America’s foreign policy.
Even though Obama has said that he would not meet with Hamas unless it renounces violence and recognizes Israel, or becomes the recognized leadership of the Palestinians — he has no qualms about holding talks with the leadership of Iran, Syria, and North Korea — that doesn’t seem to bother the Hamas leadership.
“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas’ top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, said in an exclusive interview with World Net Daily and with the John Batchelor Show on WABC Radio in New York.
He saw Obama’s comments about Hamas as political posturing that was understandable to lull supporters of Israel before the election.
“I understand American politics and this is the season for elections and everybody tries to sound like he’s a friend of the Israelis,” he said. All that would change if Obama would get elected. “I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse….
But I bet you won’t see that in your morning paper.
Nineteen months after the kidnapping of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev by the Lebanese Hezbollah, there has been a dramatic shift in the negotiations for their return. Until now, the Israeli government assumed that at least one and perhaps even both of the soldiers survived the Shiite militia’s attack on their border patrol on July 12, 2006. But intelligence information suggests that this assumption was wrong (more…). According to information obtained by SPIEGEL, Jerusalem has now concluded that the two soldiers are dead.
Even in the absence of unequivocal evidence, the negotiators have already abandoned hope. Nevertheless, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is hesitant to publicly pronounce Goldwasser and Regev dead. It would be a bitter setback for Olmert, who defined the return of the soldiers as the objective of the Lebanon war in the summer of 2006.

Back in July of 2007, it was reported that at least one of them were dead, and it was denied by Nasrallah. No one cared then, and no one will care now, as no one cared when we suffered through reports that Gilad Shalit was gravely injured and in need of medical attention.
Nineteen months. Amazing how time marches on, while the world pressures Israel to make concessions to these terrorists even as it turns its back on Gilad Shalit, Ehud Goldwasser, and Eldad Regev, indifferent as to whether they are alive, or dead. I look at the remains of their humvee, and I wonder.

Were they alive when captured, were they injured? And if so, who treated their injuries, what medicines were they given by the animals who took them? I look at that humvee, and I believe that they were injured, and I know that they were likely just bandaged up and left to live or die on their own. If they were alive, or are alive, every additional day of captivity makes it more likely that they will never be free.
Their lives matter only to those who love them. To the terrorists, they are pawns, bargaining chips. To their country, they are an inconvenience. And to the rest of the world, their lives mean nothing. I hope and I pray for them, but I expect the worst, and with good reason. Their names and their faces had already faded from the news, and soon, the world will forget they ever existed, as they have forgotten other Israeli soldiers who have disappeared into the hands of terrorists, never to be seen or heard from again:

Three soldiers, captured by terrorists during a battle with Syrian and Palestinian forces near the Lebanese village of Sultan Yaqub. June 11, 1982. Twenty-five years ago, over 9,000 days.
Two soldiers captured with them were released in prisoner exchanges with Syria and Achmed Jibril’s PFLP-GC (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command). Every once in a while, their names come up (including the 1988 Amnesty International Report and the 1993 Amnesty International December Update) but reports are conflicting and nothing is verifiable. Zachary Baumel is an American citizen.

Israeli air-force navigator Ron Arad was taken captive after his F-4 Phantom warplane went down over Lebanon. October 16, 1982. Twenty-four years ago, over 8,000 days.
Ron Arad was taken captive by Amal, a Lebanese Shi’ite militia group lead by Nabih Berri, who today is the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament. In 1987, Arad’s family received several letters and a photo of Arad confirming that the missing navigator was alive and in Amal’s hands. Mustafa Dirani, the Amal security chief who allegedly captured Ron Arad when his plane crashed in Lebanon, reportedly broke away from the terrorist group in 1987, taking Arad with him. It is believed that Dirani then “sold” Arad to either Hizbullah or Iranian elements.
According to Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot, as recently as 2003, three former Iranian diplomats and intelligence officials living in Europe claimed that Ron Arad is alive and being held in a prison near Tehran. But these reports cannot be verified.
Twenty years later, we know nothing about the fate of Ron Arad, although I have my own thoughts on that.

Guy Hever, a soldier in the Israeli Army who was reportedly last seen standing at the Katzabiya junction, just a kilometer away from the Syrian border. He disappeared, and has not been heard of since. August 17, 1997. Ten years ago, over 3,500 days.
Does anyone remember these men today? Sadly, no, most people don’t remember them, if they ever knew about them in the first place. Disappearing Jews don’t make headlines. And if you notice where that link goes, well, its not anything in the mainstream media. Even dead Jews don’t make headlines.

Oh my! but then, on a happy note, at least we’ll be safe from zombie polar bears, right?
So… How would you survive the Zombie Apocalypse?
Stick with me:

Back in November, I posted a bit of satire about a website, Who Would the World Elect, which invited people from all over the world to express their opinion on who should be the next president of the United States. It was a good idea, and while the results would be completely unimportant, they might have been interesting, except the paultards discovered it and spammed it all to hell.
Now, The Urban Grind Blog tells us about uber-liberal euro-weenies who have taken the concept to heart and demand the right to vote in US elections:
American presidential elections are not “home affairs.” American decisions have repercussions all over the globe. The American mortgage crisis affects banks in Europe. The insatiable American demand for oil makes the Arabian sheiks rich. The American refusal to care for the environment causes the North Pole ice to melt and coastal areas in Asia to flood. A weakened dollar and an immense budget deficit affect the global economy.
Hence, the world should be given the right to vote. Because the current situation is a blatant case of taxation without representation, against which the Americans rebelled in 1776. But of course the world will not be allowed to vote. The best we can hope for is that the Americans choose a leader who is deeply aware of the U.S.’s responsibility, as a superpower, for the rest of mankind.
I might comment about this, if I could stop laughing long enough to do so.
Maybe later.
If you were worried about the state of the world today, all the conflict, violence, all the war, global warming, and social injustice, well, you can sit back and relax now, ’cause help is on the way! That’s right!
It’s Synchronized Global Orgasms for Peace! Yay!
I know that to the rational mind, it sounds stupid but, you should know that the concept has been researched by The Global Consciousness Project of Princeton University, that’s right, Princeton! and they’ve been measuring the general randomness of the world using special super sekrit Random Event Generators around the world which record changes in their randomness during global events.
The results show that human consciousness can be measured to have a global effect on matter and energy during widely-watched events such as the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, large antiwar protests, natural catastrophes, acts of war and mass meditations. Concentrated consciousness has measurable effects. Wow!
Our minds influence Matter and Quantum Energy fields, so by concentrating thoughts during and after The Big O on peace and partnership, the combination of high orgasmic energy combined with mindful intention for peace could reduce global levels of violence, hatred and fear. The world is full of men with axes to grind and weapons to fire in displays of their superiority over others. It is time to spare the planet from Alpha Male concepts of ‘progress’, ‘growth’ and Manifest Destiny, which are endangering all of us. True partnership between the Masculine and Feminine that is within all women and men may enable our species to survive in relative harmony. The Global Orgasm for Peace is one attempt to begin that process.
Randomness! Matter! Quantum Energy Fields! Masculine and Femine! Oh Baby! But will it work? Well, although last year’s event is being billed as an “overwhelming success,” there is still war in the world, and global warming and social injustice, so technically, no, it didn’t work, but this year:
This year we are synchronizing on the actual moment of the Solstice (Winter in the northern hemisphere, Summer in the south) for maximum concentrated effect.
Now we have Randomness! Matter! Quantum Energy Fields! Masculine and Femine! and Winter Soltice! Maximum Concentrated Effect! Oh Baby! How can it not work? Yay! We are saved!
Whew! It’s good to know that the world now has a real and viable solution for not only peace on earth in our time, but global warming and social injustice too! and it’s one we can all participate in and make happen!
Of course, abortion statistics (and aids as well) will likely spike up in the next couple of months, but, that’s a small price to pay for peace on earth, and just in time for Christmas!
It’s Global-O baby, for peace!
So, where will you be tomorrow?
The two men are led out from cells deep inside the basement of “La Comandancia,” the city’s aging police headquarters.
They have shaven heads and a shaken look. Police officers order them to lift their shirts and show off their gang tattoos, which indicate they’re from San Jose, Calif. Both had just been deported from the United States, dropped off a few weeks earlier at the public gates of Tijuana.
On an old wooden table in front of them is a display of their loot, the result of a string of petty thefts victimizing Tijuana street vendors: a backpack, two makeshift knives, some coins along with a few packets of mints, gum and a bottle of perfume.
… Tijuana’s Mayor Kurt Honald, … has protested the dumping of criminals at the Tijuana gates. He says deportees have triggered a 300 percent rise in petty crime during the last year, as criminals raise money for a return to the U.S. Others join narcotics cartels and smuggling organizations to pay for their return.
Criminal deportees represent about one-third – 84,652 in the year ended Sept. 30 – of ICE formal deportations across the United States. And they are quickly becoming the leading category of deportee being processed by ICE. Under pressure from Congress to step up immigration enforcement, the Bush administration has expanded funding for a series of programs that seek to deport illegal immigrants out of a myriad of federal, state and local jails.
Torres Gallego heads a task force that raids neighborhoods where criminal deportees are involved in crime. She said because of their criminal records, these migrants now aren’t wanted by anyone. They have no ID in the United States. No ID in Mexico. So they get shuffled from one place to another.
“It’s very sad,” Torres said.

Tijuana’s petty crime rate is up 300% and as usual it is all America’s fault. Boo friggin hoo.
Its the ABCs of gun safety coloring book featuring Brasco the Bear:
From the good folks at Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
Twenty-nine-year old Ido Zoldan of Shavei Shomron was murdered on November 19, 2007 in a terror attack, leaving behind his wife Tehila and his children, three-year-old Aharon and one-year-old Rachel.
Ido Zoldan and his family were putting their lives together after being expelled from their home in the community of Homesh during the 2005 disengagement from Gaza.
Who killed him?
Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah terrorist branch, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said it carried out the attack to demonstrate its opposition to the Annapolis conference.
But, earlier today in Israel, the news was released that one day after the terror attack, the IDF arrested three “Palestinian policemen” for the murder of Ido Zoldan, two of them confessed, and they picked up the third.
So. They waited a week before telling us who was behind this murder, obviously to avoid any negative press before Annapolis, so Condi Rice could sit down and schmooze with Mahmoud Abbas, leader of the most active and evil terrorist group in the world.
And… in case you are wondering, yes, these would be the same “Palestinian policemen” that the United States of America has armed and trained to kill, using our tax dollars to support terrorism.

On November 28, 1872, a U.S. deputy marshall came to Susan B. Anthony’s door and arrested her. The crime: on November 5, 1872, Susan B. Anthony cast her vote in the Presidential Elections. The charge: Illegal voting.
The Fourteenth Amendment, adopted in 1868, had declared that all people born in the United States were citizens and that no legal privileges could be denied to any citizen. Anthony decided to challenge this amendment. Saying that women were citizens and the amendment did not restrict the privilege of voting to men, she registered to vote in Rochester, New York, on November 1, 1872. Four days later, she and fifteen other women voted in the presidential election. All sixteen women were arrested, but only Anthony was brought before a court.
Her trial, United States v. Susan B. Anthony, began on June 17, 1873. The presiding judge opposed women’s suffrage and wrote his decision before the trial even had started. Refusing to let Anthony testify, he ordered the jury to find her guilty, then sentenced her to pay a $100 fine. She refused to pay “a dollar of your unjust penalty,” and no further action was taken against her.

Anthony spent the next fifty-plus years of her life fighting for the right to vote. She would work tirelessly: giving speeches, petitioning Congress and state legislatures, publishing a feminist newspaper–all for a cause that would not succeed until the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment fourteen years after her death in 1906.

The right to vote.
On November 7, 2006, I voted a straight Republican ticket, despite my misgivings about the direction the Republican party has taken, despite the fact that it has abandoned every one of the conservative values that are the core of my political agenda. I cast my vote based on one issue, the War on Terrorism, despite the fact that I have seen this administration make concessions to and negotiate with terrorists. I did this because anything is better than the cut and run appeasement policy that the democrats stand for. I cast my vote for people who want to do things I am dead set against, such as pro-amnesty Charlie Crist, who, thanks to my vote, is now Governor of my state.
I was not alone in this and although I shared their feelings, I was horrified at the number of conservatives, and the number of republicans, who stayed home. None of the democrat wins were really big wins, races were decided by a few thousand votes, but in the end, it was a big win, and they won, because we stayed home. If you think your one vote doesn’t matter, look at the numbers on the Webb/Steele race.
And now, I watch President George Bush fawn over the leader of the most active terrorist group in the world, all a flutter on the chance to reward them for their constant and continuous terror attacks with a state of their own, mapping out an appeasement strategy, even while their minions were busy killing innocents in Israel.
Either the entire world has gone crazy, or I have.
And now I’m supposed to believe that a stark raving liberal who believes that Americans have the wholesale right to kill babies and that they should be able to do so at the taxpayers’ expense, a man who believes that I should pay for healthcare for criminals who sneak across the border, a man who believes in taking away my right to bear arms, is the great white hope for this Country and for the conservative movement. Sorry, but I don’t believe it and I am already so damm sick of having Rudy shoved down my throat, what will next few months be like?
I owe something to people like Susan B. Anthony, who tirelessly and endlessly sacrificed for my right to vote, and I realize that the perfect candidate is not going to ride out of the sunrise on a white horse anytime soon. I know there will never, ever be a perfect candidate.
But how much compromising on my personal beliefs am I supposed to do?
I considered it last November, but now, for the first time ever, staying home truly seems like a viable option.
and I hate that!
Is it true?
Be nice if it was.
a/k/a the Lyrical Terrorist:
Samina Malik, who liked to call herself a “lyrical terrorist”, called for attacks on the West and described “poisoned bullets” capable of killing an entire street in her poetry.
The 23-year-old Muslim wrote of her desire to become a martyr and listed her favourite videos as the “beheading ones”.
Described as a “committed Islamic extremist”, Malik, a shop assistant at Heathrow, hoarded an extensive collection of terrorism manuals, the Old Bailey heard.
She was a member of an extremist group linked to Omar Bakri Mohammed, a hate preacher who fled to Lebanon from Britain two years ago.
Yesterday a jury found her guilty of possessing documents likely to be used for terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000, by a majority of ten to one, after deliberating for 19 hours.
Malik, who wore a black head scarf, wept as the verdict was read out.
Jonathan Sharp, prosecuting, told the court the defendant liked to be known as the “lyrical terrorist” or “a stranger awaiting martyrdom”.
“She is a committed Islamic extremist, who supports terrorism and terrorists.”
“She had a library of material that she had collected for terrorist purposes.”
“That collection would be extremely useful for someone planning terrorist activity.”
The court heard how police raided her home in Southall, West London, after an email from her was found on the computer of a terror suspect in October last year.
She had a profile on the social networking website Hi-5, where she called for the execution of “depraved” Westerners .
The British-born Muslim listed her interests as helping the Mujahideen “in any way I can”.
She also wrote of how she enjoyed video messages from Osama Bin Laden and “videos that showed massacres of the kuffars”, or non-Muslims.

Just another moderate moslem, and remember… there is no terrorist threat. I’m sure you’ll be glad to know that after she was found guilty, Judge Peter Beaumont told Malik that she was an enigma and then, he set her free on bail pending sentencing.
Nothing to see here but a really lousy poet, eh?
“A man must know his destiny… if he does not recognize it, then he is lost. By this I mean, once, twice, or at the very most, three times, fate will reach out and tap a man on the shoulder… if he has the imagination, he will turn around and fate will point out to him what fork in the road he should take, if he has the guts, he will take it.” - General George S. Patton, Jr.

Veterans’ Day will come and go
Quicker than the blink of an eye
But memories of heroes present and past
Will never, ever die.
The youth of today, do you understand?
The price brave men did pay
To preserve the freedom we enjoy
Each and every day.
They were called to duty, and so they went
Not knowing what was to be
Many came home, some never did
They sacrificed so we could be free.
How lonely some must have felt
How scared some had to be
They paid the bill with their own blood
What a great cost to be free.
The heroes of our country
Are the ones who paved the way
For freedom and the many rights
That we enjoy today.
Next time, young folks, you pass someone
Who may be old and gray
Remember — thanks to him or her
You have your freedom today.
Support our President, support our troops
Support our country, too
As they go fighting for what is right
For freedom the price is due.
by Holly Rulli
November 11 is also General Patton’s Birthday, but we never seem to remember that. Below is the famous “Patton Prayer” sent to the men of the Third Army December 8, 1944:
“Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.”
Amen.
in 1874, this cartoon by Thomas Nast appeared in Harper’s Weekly:

Titled “The Third Term Panic,” the cartoon commented on fears that Grant would run for a third term as President which led some Republicans to vote with the Democrats.
Although the first use of an elephant by the Republican Party is believed to date from a printer’s cut (pre-made pictures kept ready to use as illustrations when needed) of an elephant used by an Illinois newspaper during Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 presidential campaign, this appearance is considered the first important use of an elephant as a symbol for the United States Republican Party. Nast continued using the elephant thereafter, and gradually it became the Republican icon as it was adopted by other cartoonists.
The elephant has been a symbol of strength since Roman times. Thomas Nast was a staunch Republican, and he deliberately chose the elephant as a symbol for his own Party because of the animal’s great size, intelligence, strength, and dignity.
