Helsinki, Sep. 12, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Europe’s first Islamic political party has formed in Finland.
The Finnish Islamic Party plans to collect 5,000 signatures in order to qualify for official registration by the end of the year. Counting on support from the 55,000 Muslims living in Finland, the party anticipates some success in next year’s municipal elections as well as in the 2011 parliamentary elections. Party spokesman Abdullah Tammi acknowledged to reporters that to date the party has enrolled only a few dozen members.
The Finnish Islamic Party platform supports a ban on alcohol sales, the option for Muslim children to be excused from school music classes and outings to swimming pools, legal status for ritual animal killing and male circumcision, and the eventual introduction of shari’a law in Finland. Tammi added that the purpose of Sharia law was to prevent crime.

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. – On the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, students at one high school were not allowed to wear clothes with an American flag.
Actually, the news story goes on to say that all flags of any country are not allowed on t-shirts, on any day.
What a load of crock! I mean really, this is the United States after all. This is just another example of political correctness gone crazy.

Plane carrying Shelby and Cramer fired on above Iraq
Posted by vdmartin August 30, 2007 5:04 PM
A C-130 aircraft carrying an Alabama senator and congressman was fired on this evening as it was flying from Baghdad to Amman, Jordan.
The airplane was carrying Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., and Rep. Bud Cramer, D-Huntsville, and two other senators.
Three rockets were shot at the plane and were “near misses,” Shelby said in a telephone interview. He said the pilot took evasive maneuvers to avoid the rockets. The plane landed safely in Amman at about 4 p.m. central.
“I was looking out the window, a little small window, and I saw a shell or something,” Shelby said. “And then I see a flare. Our plane started maneuvering and changing directions and shaking all around.”

Did Princess Diana die? No, I mean like did she die most recently? The way Fox News is covering her “memorial” service you’d think she just passed away last week instead of TEN YEARS ago! Sheesh. It must be a royal Britain thing to have a memorial service TEN YEARS after someone passes. I don’t get it. Yes, Princess Di was a good person, I don’t dispute that opinion.
Well, all I can say is thank goodness for Mike & Mike In The Morning and ESPN2. Although, Greeny can get a little whiny for my taste but I LOVE The Golic; dreamy.
Am I a bad person for not giving a blog’s arse about the whole Princess Di memorial thing? If I were to watch it, it’d be only to see the redheaded prince Harry!
I’ll probably get kicked out of here for posting this video but I can’t help it!
A local radio station in north Alabama, Lite 96.9, is playing songs all day long from the year 1985; the year I graduated high school.
Traveling in to work this morning they played Prince’s Raspberry Beret. Man, I love that song, my apologies up front to all the metal heads. Sorry, I wasn’t in the popular crowd back in high school. Yes, I was a dork.
My high school was small and everyone pretty much got along with everyone else. We didn’t have a real big “in” crowd. We respected each other believe it or not. I was a shy one in high school.
When our school had their first reunion, I showed up with a U.S. Marine in full dress uniform. I used to have an About Me page over at my site and it made mention of me having a tattoo. Yeah, the Marine had something to do with it. Heh. ;-)
At any rate, I do hope you enjoy the video.
I know, Beth, Vinnie, Martin, and Linda will ring my neck for this one. Sorry, but I think I’ll leave the politics and newsworthy stuff to the pros! Maybe one of them will come along and bury this puppy soon!

The 44 year old “Olympic bomber suspect” (and later cleared) was found dead in his home.

Olympic security guard suspected but cleared in bombingBy MIKE MORRIS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 08/29/07Richard Jewell, the Centennial Olympic Park security guard once suspected — but later cleared — in the bombing of the park during the 1996 Summer Games, was found dead Wednesday in his home in Meriwether County. He was 44.
County coroner Johnny Worley said Jewell’s wife discovered him dead in their Woodbury home at about 10:30 a.m., and he was pronounced dead by Worley about 45 minutes later.
Worley said an autopsy would be performed by the GBI to determine how Jewell died, but added there was “no suspicion of foul play.
“He had been having some pretty serious medical problems,” Worley said.
He said Jewell had been diagnosed with diabetes in February and had a couple of toes amputated.
“He had been going downhill ever since,” Worley said.

New group formed to support the war on terror.
It’s time for Americans to take action to fight the efforts of anti-victory groups that are undermining the war on terror. Our commercials were developed to help boost support for the war on terror. If you agree with our message, we urge you to contact your Congresspersons and share your opinions.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Today a new organization named Freedom’s Watch announced it is launching a nationwide grassroots campaign aimed at ensuring Congress continues to fully fund the troops with the ultimate goal of victory in the War on Terror. Freedom’s Watch is spending approximately $15 million on radio and television ads as well as grassroots activities from now thru mid-September and has partnered with a host of veterans organizations in an effort to ensure terrorism is confronted all over the world. The ads begin running today.
“The mission of Freedom’s Watch is to ensure a strong national defense and a powerful effort to confront and defeat global terror, especially in Iraq,” said Bradley A. Blakeman, President of Freedom’s Watch. “Those who want to quit while victory is possible have dominated the public debate about terror and Iraq since the 2004 election. Freedom’s Watch is going to change that.”

Democrats Refocus Message on Iraq After Military Gains
Criticism Shifts to Factional Unrest
By Jonathan Weisman and Anne E. Kornblut
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, August 22, 2007; A04Democratic leaders in Congress had planned to use August recess to raise the heat on Republicans to break with President Bush on the Iraq war. Instead, Democrats have been forced to recalibrate their own message in the face of recent positive signs on the security front, increasingly focusing their criticisms on what those military gains have not achieved: reconciliation among Iraq’s diverse political factions.
And now the Democrats, along with wavering Republicans, will face an advertising blitz from Bush supporters determined to remain on offense. A new pressure group, Freedom’s Watch, will unveil a month-long, $15 million television, radio and grass-roots campaign today designed to shore up support for Bush’s policies before the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, lays out a White House assessment of the war’s progress.

Well, I’m guessing from the sidebar that I am number 20 anyway.

That’s right. I’m lazy. I’ll let a silly quiz do the introductions.
Um yeah, it’s over here too.
I am so darned excited to be here I could pee my britches.
