It looks like everything is back to normal here (if you consider this place “normal!”) - everything since January was missing last night, but we’re back! Or should I say, THEY are back. *puts bag on head in shame*
Thanks to Chris and Lord B for letting me know everything was FUBAR! :)
P.S. Wake me when the Traitor In Chief is out of office, okay?
Pardon my furious swearing here, but I’ve had enough of this crap.
So, Laura Ingraham was on the O’Reilly Factor last night.
Laura Ingraham can kiss my skinny ass. I would normally change the channel because I can’t stand her, but I wanted to see what the cupid stunt had to say for herself. I was screaming at the teevee last night when she was ranting about how she was “channeling” Meghan McCain talking about her weight. BULLSHIT. She’s a flat-out liar. I can’t believe she’s trying to bullshit her way out of that one, and I can’t believe anyone thinks it’s defensible. She says it’s because Meghan isn’t qualified to talk about the future of the GOP? What the HELL does that have to do with the girl’s weight? And why is Meghan less “qualified” to talk about the public faces of the GOP than any of us? What, because she doesn’t have a radio show or nationally syndicated opinion column? Because she’s 24 years old? What about the kid at CPAC (Jonathan Krohn), then? Shouldn’t he shut up too, then? He can’t even vote! But no, she likes what he says (as do I), so he’s okay, right? Nevermind the fact he isn’t even a registered Republican and Meghan McCain is! (Oh yeah, she’s a newly-registered Republican, so she doesn’t count. I’m sure ex-Democrat Ronald Reagan would have agreed. Not.)
If it was about Meghan talking about Coulter and her abrasive, off-putting style, then criticize what she said. Mocking her with that “plus-sized” (which she isn’t anyway) shit and the Barbie crap was pure ad hominem, and totally proved Meghan’s point!
I hope she puts on a bunch of weight. Maybe when the miserable Left starts mocking her appearance rather than her arguments, she’ll fucking get it. I’ll bet “Man” Coulter (as the Left likes to say, rather than discussing her arguments) understands it, although she’s not likely honest enough to admit it. (To her credit, she hasn’t piled on.) I’ll bet Rush Limbaugh knows that fat jokes don’t do anything to challenge what he says. I’ll bet Sarah Palin knows that cruel, mean-spirited personal attacks don’t diminish her arguments or opinions.
As far as I’m concerned, anyone defending Laura Ingraham’s vapid bullshit is being intellectually dishonest at best. I was shocked when Tammy Bruce defended that shit, but I guess radio people have to stick together, right or wrong. (rolls eyes) She was particularly surprising because she’s definitely not a “true conservative” and as far as I know, not even registered Republican, so why the hell should she have anything to say about the GOP either, by Ingraham’s flimsy standards? Maybe she was afraid Ingraham would make some totally irrelevant, juvenile insult about her as well. She would, you know. (For the record, I welcome her voice in the discussion of the future of the GOP - but she’s wrong in this one.)
It’s like I always say: politics is about ADDITION, not subtraction. Meghan McCain may be only 24 and not a lifelong Republican, but even she understands that. She’s right - these nasty, ad hominem-slinging loudmouths drive away far more potential converts than they have ever brought in. All they do is preach to the choir, entertain their followers. In the process, they’re destroying the chances of progress in everything they stand for. I don’t see how they do any good when they couldn’t even manage to get their pick for Presidential nominee on the ticket! Whom exactly did they convince? Not enough to get what conservatives want! As a lifelong conservative, I resent Ingraham and Coulter and all those like them, and the damage they do. I’m no part of the left-wing attack machine that Ingraham says is complaining about her nastiness; her so-called “satire” disgusts me. I’m done with her. If she makes me tune her out, imagine how many moderates will refuse to listen to what she has to say as a conservative. Imagine how many already did long ago. (Ditto that with Coulter, et al.) Is it any wonder they can’t get moderates and independents (much less liberals) to see that conservatism is the right solution to America’s problems?
Laura Ingraham needs to shut up and…just shut up.
/rant
Now that that’s out of my system, I think I’ll go read Barack Obama’s Teleprompter blog. ![]()
UPDATE: Now here’s an Ann Coulter column that you definitely need to read (yes, even you lefties). Nothing about Meghan McCain in it at all.
UPDATE again: AMEN!!! Jenn Q. Public nails it!
(No, I’m not back - I’m just posting this and will be around in comments occasionally.)
April 15th is Buy a Gun Day and now there’s a website to go with it! Aaron describes BAG Day for the uninitiated:
Buy A Gun Day was conceived by me in 2003. There had been earlier attempts, but none responded to the liberal festival of forcible asset seizure into one of our own.
The goal is to get out the word and encourage not-yet-owners to at least become better informed and owners to make an effort to recruit those who may be standing on the fence or to move from the opposition to the ranks of the uncertain.
That the blogosphere enables us to coordinate the seventh Buy A Gun Day in 2009 while I live in the shadow of the Hollywood sign only makes the results of my effort sweeter.
In 2003, 54 blogs promoted the first “BAG Day“. The annual effort grew to over 200 blogs with the promotion by Kim du Toit, Free Republic, Instapundit and Hugh Hewitt. The date was also adopted by both the Liberty Belles and Moorewatch.
The United States Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15, 1791, my wife’s birthday (the month and day, that is, not the year!). I find that auspicious. Let’s work together to break at least 218 sites commemorating Buy A Gun Day this year, to highlight the 218 years of the Second Amendment.
While April 15 is of particular meaning in the United States, given the way the government plans to vastly increase our tax burdens, and those of our children and grandchildren, there is no reason whatsoever to limit your purchase to April 15!
Join us on Facebook’s Buy A Gun Day group, too.
*cough* Yeah, Facebook. That’s where I’ve been. :P
Anyway, here’s my baby.
I’ll probably just buy more ammo or a high-capacity magazine - or maybe a rifle. Something that’s in danger of being banned, probably. ;)
Other stuff for my fellow gun nuts to check out:
and of course, the NRA website(s). Join or renew your membership here!
Oh. My. God.
Do these people ever step outside that echo chamber for even a minute to breathe? I mean, do they not realize that not everyone on earth gives a damn about Republican vs. Democrat politics? It is to laugh. Noobs.
Can’t remember where I was tipped off to that gem, but it had something to do with inane accusations of Weblog Awards “cheating.” Cheating, as in SoapBlox being hacked to deny access to one of the blogs that’s a finalist or something. Idiots!

GO VOTE NOW - for FUCK YOU, PENGUIN. Do it or the penguin gets it!!!
Also, please, all four of you reading this (including you, Mom), vote for these in the 2008 Weblog Awards - they have links to all the blogs at the voting pages:
We interrupt your regularly scheduled apathy for a very important announcement
If you don’t read and love Fuck You, Penguin, you are a humorless failure.
That is all. :D
- Back to your regularly scheduled apathy/blog hostess invisibility -
OMG. I need a puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[This will remain on top this weekend; scroll down for newer posts.]
Got five dollars? Put it to use. TOMORROW TODAY (Saturday), send just FIVE DOLLARS to the Saxby Chambliss campaign!
A guy on Facebook is trying to get everyone we can reach to send just five dollars, in a sort-of money bomb (like Ron Paul supporters used to do) to give his campaign a boost, and conservatives on Facebook are vastly outnumbered. Let’s spread this throughout the blogs today, okay?
Just an admin note - I’ve installed a new comment thingy, the IntenseDebate system. If you get an account with them (you aren’t signing up here), you can rate comments posted and report asshats here or at any other blog that uses the system. The really nice thing - threaded comments, so you can reply directly to another commenter.
PLEASE let me know what you think about it; if y’all like it, it stays. If not, I’ll just go back to the regular old way. This is just bells & whistles, really, but I like bells & whistles. :)
If you really like it and want to use it, it’s not just for Wordpress blogs - you can use it on Blogger, TypePad, and Tumblr, with more blog platforms to be supported later.
Awww, turn that post-election frown upside-down! :P
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best…
And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…
LOL.
Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are
As only XKCD can say it. LOL.
For now, I’ve decided to follow the model set by Barack Obama at his website, and how the Obama campaign deals with critics.
Your comments will be deleted if they are deemed by me as insulting in any way. “Insulting”‘ includes “stupid,” too - if your comment is stupid, it’s gone. Also, insults phrased “politely” and concern trolls are fair game. Exception: really stupid stuff will stay for our entertainment.
Don’t like it? Sorry (not really!), but consistency would be nice. Complain to teh Obamessiah about his practices - I’m just following his example, except at least I don’t automatically ban people. :P
I’m probably only back here for a few days and then I’ll be back to real life again - although we’ll just have to see. But at least while I’m here, trolls will be relentlessly exterminated. This election season has seen enough hateful crap on teh internets (and elsewhere), and all of it is pointless.
Get a life, people.
Straight from the horse’s mouth.
He was for (everything) before he was against (everything).
By the way, have YOU made phone calls today? It’s NOT TOO LATE!

Investigating Obama: Career Path Toward a Neo-Marxist Presidency
A narrative of facts many have not heard, documented with Web links
Barack Obama, by his own book, plus the testimony of relatives and friends, was raised in quite a family. While in high school, his mother developed an affinity with a teacher who led readings from Marx. She became an atheist or agnostic and met Barack Obama Sr. in a college Russian language class - a Russian language class, circa 1960.
With no father in his home in Hawaii, he was mentored throughout his teens by Frank Marshall Davis, a man famous in communist circles, with numerous FBI files. Davis also wrote an autobiography, Sex Rebel (explicit references) which demonstrates numerous of his perversions, including pedophilia. Nothing new there, “sexual revolution” was a part of the Russia’s Marxist revolution: sex is divorced from reproduction, marriage, and child rearing; abortion becomes sublime. Sexual involvement is “liberated” into mutual use.
According to a former intelligence officer who had read the FBI files, Davis laid out a generic communist plan “to take over America from within, by installing educators at all levels of our educational system, gaining control of the media, getting Liberal judges appointed, recruiting, training and backing people to be elected to public office.”
From Hawaii, Barack was on to New York and Columbia University (Bill Ayers was a neighbor there, too) and then Chicago (where Ayers returned). Obama writes of attending socialist conferences and reading Marxist books around this time. He was trained in and taught the insurgent methods of “Rules for Radicals” drafted by cynical, “transformational Marxist,” Saul Alinsky. Thesis: lie, cheat, steal, etc., while making those who uphold American principles live up to impossibly high standards of institutional altruism, so that we and our liberal government fail in ridicule. Preach “change” and gradually build an activist army of the proletariat, motivated by (short sighted) self interest, for a crescendoing revolt. All, to pave the way for the “egalitarian state.” And funny thing, Alinsky’s book tosses an acknowledgment to Lucifer, “the very first radical,” a refreshing lapse into candor.
In Chicago, Obama met his wife Michelle at the Sidley & Austin law firm, where terrorist Ayers’ terrorist wife, Bernardine Dohrn worked, too. And in Chicago, they joined Jeremiah Wright’s church, investing two decades and significant indoctrination of their daughters there. That is, until Wright turned his criticism from merely “God damn America,” toward the one, Obama. This congregation espouses Black Liberation Theology, an institutionalization of ethnocentric bitterness and a variant of Liberation Theology, which had been conceived in South America as an attempt to sell Marxism to Christians through the clergy, misapplying portions of the Bible. Concurrently, Obama has repeatedly exhorted, “our individual salvation depends on collective salvation.” While that would have been less than Good News to Christ’s Apostles, Marx may have found it catchy.
Obama also shared an office for apparently three years with Ayers and fellow SDS member Michael Klonsky (a self-described Maoist communist) while taking Annenberg millions and devoting much of it to ACORN and other insurgent-socialist “community organizations” fitting the terrorist Weathermen’s model. The goal? “Raise political consciousness,” chiefly among black school kids. (Historically, an SDS and Weathermen objective has been to piggyback upon any black revolt in America, for their Marxist ends.) What “political consciousness?” One attractive to Ayers, a self-proclaimed anarchistic Marxist. Ayers secured the purse, thus presumably played a responsible role in setting up young Mr. Obama as chairman. They apparently formed a small circle of Chicago’s education radicals.
In an overlapping circle, Obama became a member of the Marxist “New Party” in the 1990’s while maintaining membership in the Democratic Party. Soviet apologist, Alice Palmer hand picked Obama to succeed her as Illinois State Senator. He also gained an odd circle of radical Islamist, anti-Israel friends, including Khalid al Mansour, Rasheid Khalidi, and Ali Abunimah. He has connected with the radical Musllim Brotherhood, and Louis Farrakhan credits Obama with a key role in organizing his 1995 “Million Man March.”
And what has Obama been doing as Senator besides running for President? Well, in 2006 he campaigned in Kenya for Raila Odinga, a communist Kenyan out of prison for a coup attempt, who allied himself with radical Islamists and their establishment of brutally oppressive Sharia law in that nation. Odinga lost and led the kind of protest that killed 1,000 to 1,500 Kenyans, mostly Christians, mostly by Muslims. Rape, too. Churches were burned. The thuggery worked and Obama’s man was named Prime Minister, a “change” for which Obama allegedly raised $1M.
Many Americans are hearing about Obama’s redistributionist tax and welfare/workfare plans, but do not know he wants to build (draft?) a massive, ftp://ftp. “civilian national security force” as powerful and funded as our military. And, he has pledged to plan his presidential agenda in meetings with ACORN. He is also committed to the “Freedom of Choice Act,” which would nullify all laws against partial birth abortion and those for parental notification, and any other restriction of abortion. So much for “Life, Liberty, and Property.”
This is one page’s worth of the many elements in an apparently Marxist career development of the one poised to become, of all things, United States President.
