Are you freaking kidding me?

Apparently Katie Couric was prepped for her interview with Palin by 2 Obama staffers. The saddest part was that she admitted it in an open forum thinking nothing of conflicts of interest or the like. The MSM drops even lower.

Talmadge East says:
Isn’t this the same type of thing Russert would do to both sides? I don’t see this as anything groundbreaking unless you NEED to make an issue of it.
anna l'americana says:
Yes, it is indeed proof of a giant media conspiracy that Katie let Palin talk uninterrupted. The minute she stuck her foot in her mouth they should have cut to commercial.

Stop crying already. McCain Lost, Palin’s back in Alaska killing animals where she belongs, and other than the lack of equal rights in this country, thanks to the right-wing bigots, haters and most of all hypocrites, all is well with the world! GET OVER IT!
Man Overboard says:
This doesn’t surprise me at all. Anyone who claims the media was not completely biased towards Obama from the onset is in denial.
Now watch the liberals come out of the woodwork and cry Fox News.
Chris says:
Talmadge, no, it’s NOT something that Russert would have done. He would have used his staff. He would not have gone to the opposition camp for help in destroying someone. He had standards. He didn’t need gotcha questions like what did you read today so the next question would be what was on page 2 of the article, second paragraph and all which is where Katie was taking that line of questions. He would have simply focused on her and her policies and qualifications and her ideals. Of course, he was a professional.
James, no one is crying. Get a freaking life. If this had been fox news going to the McCain camp, you would be screaming bloody murder. I’m merely pointing out the obvious, that the media and the Obama campaign were one and the same this election. It’s happened before and it will happen again. Next time, though, we’ll have a candidate that will actually fight and call out people on their terrorist ministers and friends instead of a candidate that would rather be loved than be president.
anna, actually it was a major media effort to kill the Palin momentum. The Wall Street Journal has documented it if you care to read.
Have a nice day y’all.
Talmadge East says:
I see no problem in that type of interview asking her what she reads. I could easily answer that question (a biography of Alexander Hamilton, and The Nation/Weekly Standard weekly). It’s just a human interest question because we knew so little about Sarah Palin.
Chris says:
Talmadge, That wasn’t where she was going. She asked her what type of reading she had read. Palin responded with the types. Couric then tried to spring a gotcha trap. You go to well, what did you read today? Oh, the paper, what were the articles in it? Oh, cool, what was the second paragraph? Eventually, if they don’t have a photographic memory, you have your gotcha. Palin recognized it and cut it off. Now cutting it off makes you look bad, no doubt, but worse would be mistaking what article was in what publication.
I’m not trying to lighten Palin’s poor interview. She had a bad one with Couric. Not as deadly as people are saying, but bad. What I am trying to point out here is that this is a violation of basic journalistic ethics. Back in the day when they pretended to be objective, there is no way in hell that a “respected” journalist like say Jennings or Brokaw would have gone to the opposition camp to get opp research and prep for a hostile interview. It just wouldn’t happen. In this case, not only did it happen, but she boasts about it in a round table and no one calls her on it. That’s my point. The MSM has taken any pretense of having standards and tossed them out the window.
Lord Bitememan says:
While it speaks poorly to Couric’s professionalism and to CBS’ objectivity, Palin did no service to herself either. The Republican party should not be surprised by now that the media has an overwhelming left-wing tilt. Palin should have been prepped to hit back or challenge the questioning on its basis. Let’s not forget the George Bush-Dan Rather interview. Yeah, the media’s biased, and it has been for decades. Palin should have prepped for that and prepared a good counter-punch. When Couric asked what she read she might easily have replied something along the lines of “Perhaps my willingness to answer that question should be akin to your willingness to ask it of Barack Obama.”

I don’t think they can stoop any lower.
