About his creepy Hitler Youth plan?
Jeff Goldstein is blogging up a storm over at Protein Wisdom, and I obviously cannot touch the man for logic and eloquence, so go and read it.
A quick thought though; if they try to make me ‘volunteer’ to carry out some task or other deemed worthy by the Obamanistas, I certainly shall revolt, as Jeff predicts.
I’ll volunteer my time as I see fit, and Rahm Emmanuel can kiss my milky-white British arse if he thinks otherwise. I will go to jail before I sign up for a twenty-first century Hitler Youth.
Have we just put a grandstanding, uber-liberal tokenist, like Gavin Newsome, in the White House?
Let’s hope not.

The sad fact of this “community service” idea is that there were and still are two organizations that did this very thing: the boy and girl scouts of America. They provide great service to the community, where still permitted, by creating opportunities for kids to participate rather than obligations. The community service is provided not by presidential edict but as an outcome of learning opportunities and group events for the participants.
Yet the very people who are promoting this new corps have demonized those organizations since they weren’t pure enough in ideology.
