Courts again

The SCOTUS only hears a fraction of all cases decided. Most constitutional cases are decided by the circuit courts. Currently, the 4th circuit is the most “true” to the constitution and it hears the most cases between the circuits. It used to be made up of Scalia, Thomas and Roberts types. Over the years some left leaning judges have been added, but the bigger problem is that there are a bunch of open seats waiting to be filled on that court. Therein lies the subject of today’s problem. Second circuit court has 4 of 13 seats open. The fourth circuit has 5 of 15 open. If Obama has a filibuster proof majority in the senate, these courts will swing to the far left over night. Imagine a court full of Souters and Ginsbergs. You can toss the constitution out if that happens. Ginsberg says the SCOTUS should use more international law and beliefs to help decide cases. Meaning, the socialist belief that is rotting Europe to the core should have some sway on US constitution based decisions. Obama is not going to move to the center when he wins. He won’t have to. He will have the house and senate to give him unlimited power.

Look at his friends and show me one that is not an America hating radical. This is who he is and what will form the basis of the judges he’ll appoint. We can block them in the Senate IF we have enough senators. 42 or more should give us that ability. 2 years from now when Obama and the democrats have shown who they really are we’ll be in position to get the house and senate back. Hopefully by then we can get our party cleaned out of the crony, corrupt and noodle spined moderate dead wood. Hopefully we can get some inspiring picks like the Palins, the Jindals and the Steeles of the party. We have a ton of work to do and there is going to be a ton of inner party blood letting to come. We can get to that later. Right now, the senators that are in trouble need help badly.

We have to move to the possibility that our best hope is to stop our losses this election. That means you do not get down. You do not stay at home. While it looks like Obama will win, he may still be beaten. If he isn’t, we need the Senate under 60 and as close to where it is. No, they may not deserve it. Elizabeth Dole certainly doesn’t inspire loyalty. However, Kay Hagan will rubber stamp anything Obama wants. Dole will at least fight some. Look at your senator. If s/he is in trouble, you need to help them out. There is a difference between cleaning house to send the party a message and burning down the whole neighborhood. Tell any Obama supporting republicans that you know of the split their vote if you can’t convince them to go McCain. Ditto any indys you find.

Look folks, the cavalry of 527’s is not coming. McCain blew that when the first ones were demonized by McCain. They figure that if McCain isn’t going to back them, then why should they waste the money. They aren’t going to help so it is up to us. Get out and vote. Obama’s people are and we need to try to close that gap. The goal now is two fold. Get McCain in if possible, minimize the losses if not. Let’s roll.
