Gosh, No, Really? Shocking!
So is this a surprise to anyone? Nebraska has a safe haven law that was set up to allow mothers of newborns to abandon their child in a safe place without fear of being prosecuted. Now, I am totally in favor of that. Better somewhere safe and allow the baby to be raise by a loving family who has the means than to see a news story of another prom-mom. However, the problem in Nebraska was that they didn’t have an age limit. Sooooo, what happened? Well, a big chunk of the new safe haven drop offs have been teenagers. No! It can’t be! I mean teenagers are so much fun! Why would you want to get rid of your teen? Seriously, I have a feeling that Nebraska will be seeing a huge influx of families with teens.

And thank God, the Unicameral is revisiting this poorly written law.
