bloomberg reporting snl scripts as news

In their thirst to portray Sarah Palin as a borderline-retarded, permatanned Northern Exposure snowbilly, Bloomberg News (ha!!) stoops to reporting an SNL sketch in their news piece on Palin taking of the gloves. It’s actually sad.

Impersonating the Republican candidate in a skit on Saturday Night Live this weekend, comedian Tina Fey lampooned her responses to a question about how a McCain administration would handle the financial crisis gripping the U.S.

“We’re gonna take every aspect of this crisis and look at it, and then we’re gonna ask ourselves what would a maverick do in this situation and then you know we’ll do that,” Fey, as Palin, said.

That got through sub-editors and editors to make it into a news item. They don’t even pretend any more.

Sarah Palin’s qualifications for VP may be questionable, but some reason, but regardless of her party affiliation or political platform, I don’t like to see her get torn apart like a ragged doll. Y’know, she’s no genius, but not a retard either. She’s just an Hockey Mom from Alaska. There’s no need to kick her around like that. But politics being the way it is, it’s a blood sport. As people, I somewhat like her and McCain. And I say this as someone who detested Cheney and Bush. But then again, from the polls I’d seen, Cheney was even unpopular within his own party. McCain and Palin really are paying for the transgressions of their predecessors.
