Biden

It might be a ploy to distract us, but the AP is reporting that Obama’s VP pick is Joe Biden. This just got easier. Biden was unavailable for comment as he was studying former VP pick speeches that he could deliver as his own. The jokes just write themselves with this pick. Obama was rumored to say that “Biden comes from a long tradition of running for president. I hope to learn from him” McCain’s campaign said “We hope he learns from Biden too”. See what I mean, they are just so much easier now.
All that is left is for McCain to pick now. I think that if McCain picks Palin, he picks up a bunch of seriously angry Hillary supporters. The last reports have Romney leading Ridge for McCain’s pick. Romney would be a good one. Actually a great pick as he might deliver a turmoil filled Michigan. Ridge would deliver PA as PA loves Ridge. Palin, however, would deliver a slew of female democrat voters that are just looking for an excuse and when Hillary runs in 4 years, assuming McCain wins and doesn’t run for re-election, Palin leads the way for Steele and others to become the new face of the republican party. Kind of a changing of the guard. A much needed changing of the guard.

I don’t know who would be a worse pick, Ridge or Romney? I, as I have advocated, would prefer a Romney choice because I think think the Mormon issue is more salient than the mainstream media recognizes, maybe not?

It’s 6am EDT, and it’s been “official” now for a couple of hours, I think.
Biden ought to help Obama nail down those three Delaware electoral votes. Beyond that, he brings a wealth of experience in plagiarizing speeches, and years of foreign policy weakness.
McCain could go with Palin, but I think Kay Bailey Hutchinson would be a more likely pick, were he to go with a female. Palin has the one problem Obama ought to trademark - lack of experience - but at least her experience is executive rather than merely legislative.
Come to think of it, Palin had more political executive experience than McCain, Obama and Biden put together.

Are you sure you mean “pick”???

Wow. 1. The text thing is a fiasco. The leak came around 1 am last night, 9 hours ahead of the texts. The people who signed up for the text program are REALLY annoyed with that. 2. The PUMAs (Party Unity My Ass, bitter Hillary supporters) are PISSED OFF by this pick. And there’s a lot more of them than you might think. 3. McCain’s camp aleardy has an ad showing Biden nailing Obama during a debate last year for his lack of experience, and a 2005 clip in which Biden praised McCain as a good pick for pres.
Way to go Obama.
As an addendum, Romney would not be a good pick if the goal is carrying Michigan. Yeah, he edged out McCain in the primary here, but that’s mainly because McCain said some tings Michigan voters didn’t want to hear and Romney walked through here with silvery-tongued promises. Romney also has the same political glibness as a fellow named Dick DeVos, wiki that name if you want to see how it plays in Michigan elections. Probably the best pick to help win Michigan would be a pro-life Catholic or someone who is a well known outdoorsman. Romney isn’t two out of the three and on the pro-life thing he’s a newcomer to that. So, basically, Mel Martinez or Ted Nugent would be the way to go for Michigan. Personally, I’m kinda partial to McCain-Nugent.

Biden — the perfect foil for Palin!

Obama picked someone that likes to hear himself talk more than Obama does. I think Biden will not really pick up anyone for Obama. Hell, even Biden himself said that Obama is too inexperienced to be President.
I am getting the popcorn ready for the DNC Convention with the Hillary supporters going nuts because he did not even vet Hillary for the VP slot. And then you go the re-create 68 fruitcakes on the outside.
Palin is too inexperienced to be the VP, it would not be a good choice. Romney would be good, but I do not think he is the best one. Steele, Portman, or Kasich are better choices.

Personally I thought that Tom Ridge might have made a good pick. He could put Pennsylvania in play and if we pick that up it kinda makes it impossible for the Dems to win in November. But, some of the suicide wing of the party couldn’t stomach the idea of a man who will be in a powerless non-voting position in government being pro-choice, so they decided making a good strategic move was out of the question. Oh well, better a Dem than a pro-choice VP, right suiciders?
Ted says:
Despite the Dems and the allied main stream media’s desperation to see Romney as McCain’s Veep, Mitt is clearly out, with (1) Obama doubling down on the class warfare theme (McCain’s 7 houses) and (2) McCain doubling down with ads showing the hypocrisy of Biden attacking Obama in the primaries — Romney did way more than that contra McCain.
This leaves only Govs Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty. Pro-abortion Ridge and Dem-Lieberman were never real considerations, despite relentless media goading. Pawlenty’s lackluster TV performances, coupled with Palin pizzazz, the primacy of oil drilling and the ticked off women/Hillary voters, does now portend a McCain/Palin checkmate on the Dems. This is so albeit the Dems and liberal media dare not mention Palin’s name, that is, everyone but…..
And if there’s any question as to Palin being uniquely positioned and able to more than nullify Biden in debate, see the excellent discussion at palinforvp.blogspot.com
Team McCain, well done!!!

Ted, I could whole heartedly support McCain Palin. It would be a dominating ticket too.
