Hey everyone! Been away for a couple days. So, uh, what did I miss? :)
OK, let’s start with this Bill Kristol article. It’s dead on. Here comes the smear.
It’s incredible. McCain picks Sarah Barracuda and the whole election gets a jolt of energy. Obama’s camp immediately responded by deriding small towns and saying she has no experience. Then realizing that saying that only allows people to see how much more she did with her limited time than he did, they quickly backed off. We keep hearing that she will bring women with her as if women are mindless drones that follow anything with a set boobs where ever it goes. Sorry, but that would be men. I’ll wait to see what the women of American think.
It’s hard not to be impressed with her. 5 kids, keeps in shape, has a good job, obviously keeps the house and home going too. I have no doubt that she can tune my car up and fix my mower. She can also make your bumps and bruises feel better. All the while she’s either running a town or a state and putting bad people out of jobs. She’s not just Sarah Barracuda, she’s RoboMom.
It didn’t take long to gauge reactions. They were pretty much in line with what you’d expect. Her achievements growing up and before this are already becoming an internet legend. Did you hear that she played the championship game with a fractured ankle? Sank the game winning free throw too. It’s said that the sun doesn’t rise until Chuck Norris says it can. Well, first Chuck asks Sarah if it’s ok. Dropping their bias for a moment, NPR had a decent piece on Sarah Barracuda.
After the announcement, I cruised the talk radio and blogsphere. Here’s the roundup:
Limbaugh: Inspired
Hannity: I’m not staying home on election night any more, I’m voting McCain.
Local Radio Guy: Finally excited by the campaign
Obama: She’s inexperienced and a waste.
Newsweek: She’s going to flop.
Vanity Fair (DeeDee Myers): The double x Dan Quayle.
Locally, the local Rowan County Republican Chairman is a 70 something Vietnam Vet. He said that they were highly skeptical of her when they first heard her name as they had never heard of her. He said that when she finished her speech, you could hear a pin drop in the room and some of those old guys had tears in their eyes. They knew what a great person McCain had picked. He said the first woman wanting to join team McCain was within 15 minutes of the speech and the phones were lit up for hours with calls coming in.
Someone who used to live in Alaska until a couple months ago called the local radio station and told them that Sarah Palin was Alaska’s Reagan. I’m not sure I can go that far, but she sure is tough.
James Dobson has moved from “I don’t think I can vote for McCain” to “I can pull that lever“. He had been moving that way already, seeing Obama, but Palin secured him. That’s bigger than it looks. Dobson still has a good influence on the far right.
One naysayer I was surprised by was Savage. He likes Palin, but hates the pick saying Romney would be a better pick. Romney would have been a good pick, but he’s a ground rule double. Palin is a home run.
Rodger on C&S has a link to the Hillary Clinton forum. It’s a great read. Start with the first page and go on through. It’s incredible. There are people who were on that site from the beginning, who now have avatars of McCain/Palin by their name and Hillary in their signature line. Several were “presidential level” posters with more than 1000 posts.
Based on all that, and that Zogby says McCain has wiped out Obama’s bounce with this pick tells me that she is resonating. And why not? The Palin family is that family next door. The one you see at the soccer games. The one that helps you when your car won’t start or that you help when theirs doesn’t. Hunters, fishers, sports nuts. They are you and I. The average Jane and Joe trying to make our corner of the world better. Each one of us has muttered “If I were in charge, I’d stop that (bridge to nowhere, corrupt politician, etc)” Sarah Palin DID. She is us living our “If I were in charge”. Limbaugh once said of Clinton that people liked him because he made them feel comfortable with their flaws. Well, people like the Palins because they restore our faith that we, the average American who fights the good fight every day and makes the country run, can make a difference. And that’s a very good thing.
When death came for Chuck Norris, he kicked his rear, busted down the gates of hell and trashed the place. Sarah Palin yelled out “ONE! TWO!…” before she got to three, Chuck had apologized, cleaned up the mess and went to his room…
The bubble-headed disciples of teh Obamessiah™ must be somewhat reeling right now - as they worked themselves into an orgasmic frenzy over the libporn ’sermon on mile high’ (which I cannot even recall, so popcorn-like is Obama’s oratory), we were busy sucker-punching them with Sarah Palin.
I thought teh Obamateur® would lose before, and, although excitement over the Veep selection is usually shortlived, I think McCain just fired up the base big time and a win in November now looks a strong likelihood.
And remember, when that happens, you’re all racists.
Pre-convention bounce. I likey.
YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG!
They’re about to go on in a few minutes so I’ll shut up now. :D :D :D :D :D
(pic from Southern Appeal, not the campaign)
Edit to add: Carl Cameron needs to quit calling her Susan Palin. LOL
Update: My friend and fellow McCain supporter Steve Maloney has been pushing for Sarah Palin for months now - more about Sarah Palin here. By the way, did you know her son’s in the Army? I just learned that today. :)
Update 2: More about her at the Draft Sarah Palin for VP and the Palin for VP blogs!
I’m so excited!!!!
FNC is saying all kinds of stuff that it’s Sarah Palin, including “sources backstage in Dayton telling Fox Palin is VP pick.” :D :D :D
Sorry, not writing much because I’m just looking for clues and waiting!
Obama’s campaign has a tin ear and a deity complex. Combined, those two traits will do a lot more damage than help tonight - accepting the nomination at a football field was dumb move number one, dressing it up like the acropolis was number two, and trying to sell this idiocy as an act designed ‘for the people’ as Obamessiah™ tried last night rounded out the hat-trick.
Everyone can define what can go wrong, and no one can quite define what “great move” would look like. It has every possibility of looking like a Nuremberg rally; it has too many variables to guarantee a good tv picture; the set, the Athenian columns, looks hokey; big crowds can get in the way of subtle oratory. My own added thought is that speeches are delicate; they’re words in the air, and when you’ve got a ceiling the words can sort of go up to that ceiling and come back down again. But words said into an open air stadium…can just get lost in echoes, and misheard phrases.
Of course, the crowd will, in the style of Chris Matthews, have a tingle in their collective leg anyway. BUT, if the sound is not perfect (as it often is not for open-air speaking), some of his applause lines may get missed, and interfere with his rhythm.
I, for one, think it’ll finally give the late night comedians clearance to laugh at this vapid lightweight with an ego the size of a planet, and will reaffirm the notion that this guy is in it for the orgasmic swooning of adoring crowds, rather than an actual desire to improve the governance of America.
He’s toast in my opinion - Mike Dukakis was UNABLE to recite a SINGLE accomplishment of his candidate last night despite being given several opportunities to do so; pretty tricky to get through a job interview with nothing on your resume.
Neil Kinnock, the superficial gasbag and former leader of the Labour Party, is now a Lord (as is the tradition) working for the EU (where his nil-value-add gasbaggery is quite the asset), thinks that the man who plagiarized one of his most vomit-inducing campaign ads in 1987 should be the next Veep:
He told The Times: “Joe is a great guy who brings a whole collection of virtues to the Democratic ticket, notably his insight and experience. I really do wish him all the best. It is essential that the Democrats win, not only for the USA — but also for the rest of the world.”
Got it? For the world….
Here is a site that is doing a picture based height and weight chart. It’s taking pictures from ordinary people and putting that picture with their height and weight. It’s interesting to see the different body shapes that can make up a height/weight size.
Kender at Kender’s Musings has the new BJ (Barack/Joe) bumperstickers. I need one of each please (hat tip Raven at “and rightly so”).
A John Edwards lawyer story in the making. This guy is the driver of a fatal hit and run. After his trial, he turns around and sues the city for not taking care of his car. (H/T Drudge)
Ok, I now know who I want for McCain’s VP: Sarah Palin. Look at these pictures I merged. Can you see either Biden or Obama or even McCain with a biker gang or a motor cycle or a real fish? McCain maybe, but the others? Heck no. Oh, she also flies airplanes and was on the cover of Vogue. The republican party is in desperate need of fresh faces. She can lead the way.

I don’t know the plot. I don’t know who is writing it. But Pixar is coming out with Toy Story 3 and you just know that has mega-blockbuster written all over it. Tim Allen and Tom Hanks and the rest of the gang are back. It’s got 400 million plus just in it’s name. I can’t wait.
Finally, come on! Sign up for the football challenge. Only a couple have signed up so far. It’ll be fun! Group 18063 Password loserobama. Don’t be a party pooper. Get signed up!
To set the stage, let’s do a quick case study on the media bias and standards: Rudy vs. Edwards. Rudy Giuliani was preparing for super Tuesday when the New York Times laid out a devastating article on how he used city funds to cart his mistress around the city and to make her happy. They had “unnamed” sources and they couldn’t tell us what proof they had. Then, after ruining Giuliani’s campaign, they came out and basically said “Oops. Sorry, the proof didn’t pan out like we thought.” Giuliani had a chance to be the nominee. If he had won big on super Tuesday, who knows what would have happened. Instead, the NYT wrote a fake article and destroyed him before he could score those wins. No real proof. No sources. Just a rumor was all it took to wreck a candidate.
**Update: Ok, a little sloppy with the dissertation. Rudy’s story came out in December, well before super Tuesday. Sorry. And yes, he was a flawed candidate, but he still had the outside chance. However, the point still remains. The NYT set out to wreck him. They were successful. Then they admitted their lie after the damage was done.
***
Compare that to John Edwards. His affair was rumored over a year ago and no paper or media outlet would touch it. The Enquirer had sources, pictures and everything that the NYT did not have on Rudy and still not one major paper would touch it. The LA Times told their bloggers “we’re not talking about it”. Only when Edwards confessed did they talk about it. The Enquirer says the baby’s father is John Edwards. He denies it and the MSM has dropped it without even asking. They are still taking up the slack for him. Now, think about what could have happened. Maybe Obama chooses Edwards as VP and then this affair comes out. Or Obama stumbles and Edwards gets the nomination and the affair comes out. The Democrats dodged a major bullet when they didn’t have to. If this comes out last year when it was researched by the Enquirer, Edwards is an afterthought.
This week, Barack Obama will be the official democrat nominee. He has never been vetted by the media. They have rushed to his side every time someone questions him, shouting the offender down with charges of racism, usually started by the Obama campaign. Still with all that, the alternative media still found Odinga. They found Ayers. They found Obama’s brother. Rodger on Curmudgeonly and Skeptical has been all over the alleged fake birth certificate of Obama. I don’t think the birth certificat is going anywhere, but the point is that all this was found without the efforts of the mainstream media. They have totally failed on their responsibilities to honestly cover the political arena and critically examine the candidates. This is not going to help Obama. It is going to hurt the democrats.
Over the last few weeks, the nation has started looking at this messiah the media keeps presenting. As they hear about the things that the US mainstream media won’t cover, he drops lower and lower in the polls. A first salvo has been fired by the UK Telegraph. They document the influence of Frank Marshall Davis, who is the Frank Obama talks about in his book as one of the early influences in Obama’s life and beliefs. He was a communist and a child/teen rapist. Has the mainstream media asked Obama about his association yet? The bloggers will. The 527’s will. What else is coming that we haven’t found yet? Is there a video tape of him in that church? Is there some essay written in college that denounces America? You can bet the blogs will be in full force over the next few months scouring everywhere for things. What will they find that the media ignored?
That is the downside for the democrats when it comes to the media bias. Had the media vetted Obama like they should have, he would never have won over Hillary. The surprises that are coming on Obama would never happen with Hillary. She’s been vetted and examined more than any candidate around except maybe McCain. When the really ugly parts of Obama come up, the Obama bus will lose wheel after wheel and McCain will win the presidency. When that happens, the democrats will have only their friends in the media who failed to do their job to blame. Maybe someday we’ll get a press that actually tells the news and doesn’t make it up on the fly. Until then, we in the blogosphere will be around to take care of that.
Dear Senator Biden:
In June of 2006, you appeared on Meet the Press and during that appearance, you demanded accountability for the so-called Haditha massacre from the current administration.
Senator Biden, you made rash and harsh accusations against good and honorable men without evidence, without fact. You spoke of the Haditha incident as if the accused Marines were guilty and you did so without reviewing any evidence, without any facts, without any due process. You did so based on rumor and innuendo, based on enemy propaganda, and you pronounced them guilty without a trial.
Senator Biden, you accused the Government of the United States of America and United States Military of perpetuating a coverup at the highest levels, again, based upon enemy propaganda.
RUSSERT: Let me ask you a last question on Iraq about Haditha and some of the other alleged atrocities. The fact is, our government knew about that for some time. How high up the chain, based on your information, do you think this goes?
SEN. BIDEN: The secretary of defense.
MR. RUSSERT: And what should be done?
SEN. BIDEN: He should be gone. He shouldn’t be in his office tomorrow morning. But I’m so tired of saying this on your show. I’ve been saying this for two years.
MR. RUSSERT: Well, the president knew about it in March.
SEN. BIDEN: Well, we can’t get rid of the president. He’s there for two and a half more years. There is a system of accountability. The system of accountability is, it used to be a gentlemanly thing, as they say, when you make serious mistakes, you step forward and you acknowledge them and you walk away. Presidents can’t and shouldn’t do that. Secretaries of defense can and should.
Today, Senator Biden, the falseness of your statements have been proven. Eight of the Marines charged for the so called “massacre” have already been exonerated. There is but one case still pending and that case is likely to be dismissed as well. There was no massacre and if there was no massacre, there was no coverup, at any level.
Senator Biden, there can be no doubt you made a serious mistake in your accusations against our Marines and you made a serious mistake in your accusations against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and you made a serious mistake in your accusations against the President of the United States, George W. Bush. Mistakes you should be held accountable for.
According to your own statement, your own “system of accountability,” the gentlemanly thing to do would be for you, Senator Biden, you, to stand up and to acknowledge your serious mistake, for you to apologize to each of these brave and honorable men for your false accusations and misdeeds, for you to apologize for the injuries you inflicted upon them based on your rash and thoughtless words spoken without knowledge, that were based on rumor, innuendo and ignorance of the facts, the accusations you made without the benefit of a proper investigation and the gathering of information necessary to make intelligent commentary on such a sensitive subject.
Never mind the dangers inherent in your promotion of the propaganda of the enemy at a time of war and your undermining of our Government and the Military in favor of the enemy, which equals aiding and abetting the enemy, as your words were before the world and they put every soldier overseas in grave danger of suffering vengence for acts that did not in fact occur but which you claimed did occur.
Do the the right thing Senator Biden. The world is watching. The world is watching you.
Stand up Senator Biden. Be a man.
Acknowledge your serious mistake. Apologize to those you have falsely accused.
Sincerely,
LindaSoG, and MVRWC
It might be a ploy to distract us, but the AP is reporting that Obama’s VP pick is Joe Biden. This just got easier. Biden was unavailable for comment as he was studying former VP pick speeches that he could deliver as his own. The jokes just write themselves with this pick. Obama was rumored to say that “Biden comes from a long tradition of running for president. I hope to learn from him” McCain’s campaign said “We hope he learns from Biden too”. See what I mean, they are just so much easier now.
All that is left is for McCain to pick now. I think that if McCain picks Palin, he picks up a bunch of seriously angry Hillary supporters. The last reports have Romney leading Ridge for McCain’s pick. Romney would be a good one. Actually a great pick as he might deliver a turmoil filled Michigan. Ridge would deliver PA as PA loves Ridge. Palin, however, would deliver a slew of female democrat voters that are just looking for an excuse and when Hillary runs in 4 years, assuming McCain wins and doesn’t run for re-election, Palin leads the way for Steele and others to become the new face of the republican party. Kind of a changing of the guard. A much needed changing of the guard.

I want to thank you for inviting me to speak to your wonderful group this fine day…

WHAT!? DAY!? You prejudiced jerk. You came here on a day because you think that Barack Obama is mugging people at night. You think he wants to hurt you. You racist bastard.

Everytime I hear the word day, I think of the N-word…

I can’t believe he said the D-word. He’s so offensive. Keith, do you really think he thinks Obama mugs people? Of course he does Chris. Sharpton said so.

Your kidding me right? To continue, I want to tell you why I am running for president. I’m on this oil rig…

RIG!? RIG!? I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT! That sounds like you know what. How DARE you!? You and your evil white people made this the U.S of KKKA already. Get your racist rear outta here!

Everytime I hear the word rig, I think of the N-word.

Oh, great, you made Michelle cry. Are you happy now? You typical white racist! Leave her out of it.

But, I didn’t say anything to her.

Oh, so you’re saying she’s faking her tears. You jerk. I’d beat your rear, but I’m a man of peace and the messiah doesn’t get his hands dirty.

I can’t believe he said the R-word to attack Michelle Obama and then lies about her tears. We used to love this guy. What happened to him Keith? Nothing Chris. He’s an evil republican. This is what they do.

UGH! My opponent runs a lot of commercials telling you why we can’t drill for oil. He has a lot of money..

OH, and I suppose NEXT you’re going to say he got that money pushing drugs. Another slander against the black man running for president. He has money so he has to be doing something illegal.

Everytime I hear the word money I…

Not now, Michelle, we need money.

I can’t believe how prejudiced his thinking is. He actually thinks that all blacks are pushers and dealers. I’m removing him from our address book.

No, I don’t think he did anything illegal. Now if I may continue. We need to find different sources of energy, yes. But we also need to get more oil. We can offset the carbon by planting more trees and…

Freaking A. You’re offended by trees?

You sit there and talk about trees and I know that’s code for lynching. You want to kill black people. You want to lynch Barack Obama. Admit it. Then you can be president of the United States of G.D. America.

Oh, sorry. Everytime I hear the word tree, I think of the N-word.

McCain actually suggested lynching Obama? Hanging him from a tree? Can you believe that Keith? Yes, Chris, he should be arrested for not being a democrat. Only in Bush’s America could someone think of doing something wrong. It’s why we need the messiah.

I never said to hang anyone. I’m trying to solve the oil crisis and be enviromentally friendly. We can’t keep depending on other countries for oil and

OH! So African oil isn’t good enough for you? Is that it? You think that since the Africans drilled for the oil it’s somehow inferior, don’t you? Don’t you?

Does it matter? That’s your cue.

I don’t know what he just said, but I’m sure it reminds me of the N-word.

I can’t believe he thinks African oil is inferior to other oil. Wow, what a bigot, eh Keith? Oh, Chris, the UN isn’t going to like this at all.

Actually, we get most of our oil from Canada and that won’t change unless…

Oh, so hymietown style whitey oil from Canada is ok, but that African oil harvested off the backs of the African brothers is not? Now you show your true self you racist, bigoted, homophobic trash.

Everytime I hear the words whitey oil, I think of the N-word…

I can’t believe he just said white oil is better. Wow he’s out of control.

Fine, I’m done. Thank you for letting me speak here. I’m John Mc…

JOHN! JOHN! Do you realize how many johns have oppressed the sisters in the hood by buying their bodies? Even your name is racist. Unbelievable. How can you stay in this? You better drop out or your chickens will come home to roost and I don’t mean KFC either.

Everytime I hear the word John, I think of the N-word.

It wierd. His parents knew he would be racist so they gave him a racist name, Keith. Chris, he should have changed it before running but was too racist to do so.

Do you really think this will work? How long do you think we can get away with this?

Dude, it’s all you have. It better get us to the morning of November 5th or we’re finished.

It’s only going to get worse man. Take it from me, it will only get worse. Oh well. Make the best of it. Hey Michelle, Hillary’s gone for a while. I have the house to myself. 914-555-1016. Call me!
Not by much - he knows a great deal about business but is an economics illiterate (and no, the two are not the same, not even slightly) - but a little.
No, I didn’t–I didn’t give money to John Edwards. And, in fact, I think if I’d given money to him, I’d probably be asking for it back now. It’s an interesting situation because John Edwards essentially was soliciting money from people to further his ambitions for the presidency, and, you know, people sent him 50, $100, $200, and I would say that they sent it in while they were being misled by the person who was soliciting the money from them…..
…..And, in fact, I’ve never heard of it, but it might be kind of interesting if somebody, some contributor, would bring a class-action suit on behalf of all these people who essentially were led to send money to a man under totally false circumstances, false pretenses, and where he knew it and didn’t tell them the truth.
I would crawl a mile through broken glass on my hands and knees to watch footage of John Edwards testifying in a class action suit brought against him by other Democrats. Hopefully someone would be there to channel the unborn love child that Edwards never fathered.
Some random musing for your Friday. Have a great weekend.
So Obama gets caught lying again (thanks Misha!). His campaign had to admit it this time. This one is the mother of all flip flops and one that will haunt him terribly. The infant born alive act in Illinois. The lie isn’t the problem here. It’s not good, people will not pay nearly as much attention to the lie. The truth is actually worse than the lie. Obama has crossed the line and he can’t get back. His vote basically says he believe babies can be killed. Now we’re just negotiating the timing. How long after a birth can you say “kill that baby, I don’t want it”?. A minute? An hour? A day? Can an abortion be retroactive a week later? He crossed that line. He’s saying a live baby can be killed. Now we are just arguing how long and under what circumstances. Justify that one Obamatards. I’m sure middle America will love that change.
The democrats are wondering how to get rid of the homeless in Denver. They can’t have the people they care so much about hanging around smelling up the place. Public libraries, street corners, parks and all the places you and I like to go, fine, but the elite, oh so much better than us, democrat leaders don’t want to see that trash so something has to be done. So they held a brainstorming session in an office somewhere and someone said “haircut” and now we have haircuts for the homeless. So the mindless braindead idiots mumbling change with the good hair are the ones you give a buck or two. Mace the rest.
Remember when Obama told us that calling him arrogant was racist and that he wasn’t overconfident? Yeah, another lie. Here’s another self-inflicted wound in the Obamessiah. Barack “I’m not overconfident” Obama sent a campaign official to Syria. They sat Assad down telling him to get on with negotiations with Israel. Why? Well, because Obama is going to win and president Obama wants this Syria-Israel issue over or well on it’s way to being over by the time he takes office. Now, Kurtzer says he didn’t say Obama or McCain. He claims he said the “next president”. Yeah, right. Why would an Obama advisor be concerned about the foreign relations in a McCain presidency. He probably went in there and said something like “Cool the killing until he gets elected”. I guess that’s to be expected. Obama isn’t discriminatory. He likes both domestic terrorists (Wright, Ayers, etc) and the international kind. He said he’d meet them without preconditions and he is doing just that. There’s your change you can believe: W kills them, BO holds their hand.
Obama visited Raleigh this week and the local paper here in town had the title “BARACKSTAR”. I don’t think they saw the humor we see in that. While he was here, he said that he had to have NC to win. He’s right. Ohio, Florida, Virginia and Colorado aren’t looking good and Pennsylvania is starting to tank too. Obama still leads, but he’s falling. If he loses PA, he’s done. Game over. He can’t recover from that. Oh, and Barack, there’s no way you can win NC. Not happening. You could put Elizabeth Edwards on your ticket and you’ll still lose it. But keep coming by and spending your money here. We’ll gladly take it from you.
I might be wrong, but I think when you have people trying to find anti-christ symbols in your opponents commercials, you are in very serious trouble.
Barack likes to talk about the “failed policies of the past” when referencing oil. Did you know that Bush has wasted over 30 BILLION with a B in “alternative energy” goose chases? Yeah, I thought not. 30 billion since 2003 and where are those alternatives? A truly failed policy. Drilling has never failed us before. Start drilling and we’ll cover our oil shortages long before any of those other things come along. Alternatives have done nothing except raise food, gas and oil prices while giving us high inflation and starving a lot of people. That’s a change we don’t want to embrace.
I have opened up a college football pickem group for us to have some fun with. Our group name is “byebyebarack” and the password is “loserobama”. The group is using the spread in it’s picks so make sure you think hard when you pick LSU over App State. Make sure you cover the spread. Picks are due 5 minutes before the first game. Sign up and let’s have some fun. If you could, use your comments name so we know who is who.
Update: You need the group id# which is 18063 to join the fun.
In his usual restrained but crystal-clear fashion, Stossel puts the idea of ‘energy independence’ into the toilet.
And flushes it.
To be for “energy independence” is to be against trade. But trade makes us as safe. Crop destruction from this summer’s floods in the Midwest should remind us of the folly of depending only on ourselves. Achieving “energy independence” would expose us to unnecessary risks — such as storms that knock out oil refineries or droughts that create corn — and ethanol — shortages.
Trade also saves us money. “We import energy for a reason,” says the Cato Institute’s energy expert, Jerry Taylor, “It’s cheaper than producing it here at home. A governmental war on energy imports will, by definition, raise energy prices”.
Go read it all. Money line:
McCain and Obama talk constantly about how much they will “invest” — with money taken from the taxpayers, of course — to achieve energy independence. “[W]e can provide loan guarantees and venture capital to those with the best plans to develop and sell biofuels on a commercial market,” Obama said.
What makes Obama think he’s qualified to pick the “best plans”? It’s the robust competition of the free market that reveals what’s best. Obama’s program would preempt the only good method we have for learning which form of energy is best.
The older I get, the more stupid I think that politicians are. It’s apparent to me that most lack even a basic understanding of how the real world functions (where good products and services, not empty gestures rule), and for the most part they believe in unicorn and fairy-dust solutions to problems that our government has absolutely no business involving themselves in.
