let’s play Barack twister: Obama views of Iraq

So people are finding out what we already know: Barack Obama the messiah is nothing but a plain old “say anything to win” politician. What position he takes depends on what audience he’s speaking to. That is what spawned today’s audience participation. Today, we’ll play the Barack Obama twister game covering his various flip flops. The goal is to get a subject from Barack Obama that he flippity floppities himself all over the place on.

Our first Barack twister game covers Obama’s flip flops on Iraq.

Let’s start in 2002 when he was running for the senate. He said that Iraq is a bad decision. He openly opposed it. He bragged about it on his senate website. It has been cleansed a bit but it is still negative to the war. In a democrat controlled state with socialist democrat buddies he tows the anti war line. Against it. Now, here’s the rub. He says he has always opposed the war and has done so from the very beginning. He claims to have never waivered. Well, let’s do the circle:

He writes in his book “The Audacity of Hope” when they toppled the statue he suspected he may have wrong. Then in July 2004, he told Chicago Tribune that his position and that of President Bush’s is not that far apart. So, when the public is thinking it’s a good war and was needed, Barack parrots the same.

September 2004: Maybe some more troops might be a good thing.

October 2004 - Don’t bring the troops home:

January 10, 2007 - surge announced and Barack opposed it.

May 10, 2007: Time to bring the troops home now while voting against funding the troops.

Here’s the best 2 though. They happen less than 30 hours apart.

April 10th, Gary Indiana. What did Barack say? He will bring all troops home by 2009. He will pull them out. Adding more troops is a mistake.

April 11th debate: Will you commit to having all troops out of Iraq by 2013: Barack Obama said no.

And this week we get the reports of Barack pulling his opposition to the surge off his website. Like we wouldn’t have noticed…

There you have it. A messiah pretzel. Any other changes in his Iraq policies that I missed? Drop them in comments. More twister fun coming up later. As people see more and more of his actual positions, he sinks further and further. No matter how you dress him or pull his strings or give him nice words to speak, he’s still just a flaming lefty and the most liberal senator in the senate. As people discover that, they will abandon him.
