I have 4 words for the liberals today
I want you to know, liberals, that I mean this with all the sincerity I can muster. Eat s**t and die.
Here is a video of a man in Hartford Connecticut being run over by a car. The deed happens at the 20 - 23 second mark of the tape. If you are squeamish, look away at nineteen seconds and count to 5. The purpose of this is not to be sensational. It is to vent. Look at the reaction of the people here. No one. Not one person pulled over or went over to help. For over a minute and ten seconds, this man lay in the street hurt or dying until a cop who was answering another call stopped. No one tried to help. No one called for help. They did appear to take pictures with their camera phone at the minute ten mark though. I’m sure he’ll enjoy seeing his wrecked body on the internet while he lies paralyzed in bed.
So why do I tell the libs to eat s*it and die? Well, let’s have a lookie at the voting percentages from the last election of Hartford county Connecticut where the city of Hartford is. What? 84 percent voted green, dem, socialist or Nader to 16 for Bush and libertarian? No, can’t be. Liberals are compassionate. Remember? Must be wrong. Ok, Let’s check 2000. Well, hey, liberal candidates 65.3, Bush 34.7. Almost 2 to one eight years ago, over five to one now. Those weren’t compassionate conservatives.
Typical liberal selfishness. It would have taken all of ten seconds to kneel down and see if he was ok, or to try to talk to the person, or to stop and call for help. Bleepholes. This country needs hope and change alright. No doubt about it. We need to hope we can have a plague or something eliminate enough liberals to change the selfish attitude of the “blue” parts of the country.
The police chief of the town says “At the end of the day we’ve got to look at ourselves and understand that our moral values have now changed. We have no regard for each other.” Ya think? I hope your pathetic liberal bastion rots. I have no doubt the story would have been different here in smalltown bitter gun and God clinging America. Trash. Pure unadulterated trash. And we let them vote. Bah!

Yes he probably was a lib too. And you’re right, he does bear some responsiblity for his plight as he did just walk out without really paying attention. However, when he’s laid out in the street, he gets the aid he needs if you or I had been there. They talk such a good game. Too bad their actions are always a disaster.

How can you be so sure that every one of those bystanders are liberals? Do you know any of them specifically? Have you checked their voter ID? Do NOT look at the population statistics and automatically assume that liberals are involved in this specific accident in any way.
Which state are you in, Chris? Want me to pull up the population stats there, and make a half-assed assumption that a certain percentage of people living there are finger-pointing judgmental a-holes because of your statements?
You want to blame anybody, Chris? JUST BLAME THE SPECIFIC PEOPLE WHO DID NOTHING. Don’t blame their politics. Don’t blame their churches. Don’t blame their schools, or their neighborhoods, or their neighbors. Just blame them.
You wanna attack liberals for their failings? Fine. Just don’t tie it into a tragedy like this. All it does is make you look exploitative, and all it does is distract from the real issues you need to be focusing on.

I look at the neighborhood, Paul. It’s apparently a poor, crime-infested ‘hood. It’s no surprise at all to me that amoral lowlifes who walk and drive past a severely injured man laying in the street are in the state they’re in (poor, unemployed, etc.) - and it makes me VERY unsympathetic to their plight. In fact, I’d say they fucking deserve to be at the lower rungs of society.
Are they “liberal?” Probably not, so much as just plain old dirtbags who happen to vote Democrat. I wouldn’t indict all liberals, but I will say it’s something you’d absolutely find more common in neighborhoods like that. It’s disgusting, and more to the point, it’s disturbing. I’m not so much better off than they are myself (at least economically), but I live better because I have morals and standards. I don’t think it’s okay to fuck over your neighbor or strangers or the gubmint or anyone, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t believe the people in that sort of neighborhood have decidedly lower moral standards than you or I do. All you have to do is look at the crime rates. Do you think that shit would happen in your neighborhood? And to be fair, that would surely not happen in crazy-lib Berkeley, either.
That video, that incident, is the sign of a very sick society in need of an ass-kicking, so to speak. I’m sick and tired of the government pouring money into places like that, for one thing. And maybe the lack of humanity is the direct result of the gubmint allowing them to have NO responsibility for themselves or their communities. But what can you do?

Talmadge, I’d kind of think “good Samaritanism” (so to speak) is more common here, in the South, than it is in certain other parts of the country. I know, for example, that when I’ve had car trouble or whatever, strangers are always willing to help, asking nothing in return. I never saw that sort of good-neighbor kind of thing when I lived elsewhere.
I won’t say “this is because they’re Yankees,” but I *will* say I feel lucky to live in a place where people are kinder to one another.

Of course I’ll blame their churches, their neighbors and neighborhoods. That’s what shapes them and made them what they are and they obviously failed to make them decent human beings. Don’t look at stats? Please. I can certainly look at the stats and draw a pretty accurate conclusion. Take any 10. 8 are libs, the remaining 2 are libs who were high and thought it would be funny to vote Bush.
Look, I know I went off the deep end a bit, but let’s face it. This is the same kind of people who robotically pull the lever for the donks. They do nothing for themselves or other people and it is a certain social/political belief system that does everything it can to cause that mindset.

Talmadge, I’m not blaming politics per se. I used the stats to show the liberal leanings of the town and extrapolated the belief system from that.
Liberealism is more than just a political system. It’s a social and economic belief system that happens to vote for certain people of a certain set of parties. It is in their schools, homes and churches as well as their mentality. If I was blaming politics, I would have told the dems to eat.
Liberalism is an infection. A disease on society. It pits people against each other (rich vs poor, black vs white, etc). They breed the mentality of the nanny state, and even worse, the belief that a fellow human has no need for help as the government will take care of him too and if not, then hey maybe he won’t make it and I can get his food stamps. So when they see someone laid out in the street, they don’t help, they take cell phone pictures.
There are definitely places that this would have happened in the South. Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte. Heck, here in Charlotte, they would have taken his wallet and shoes after taking the pictures. But in the small (conservative) towns, this would not happen because in every crowd, there is at least one or two that will step up to help.

You took one horrific incident in one bad section of one city and then used the voting records of the surrounding county to criticize anyone not in your sociopolitical crowd. It’s horrible that some unemployable, shiftless, ghetto dwellers did nothing to help a man hit by a car; but you’ll find people like that in any city in America. What do you expect of people who were just hanging around the ghetto during the day? They had nowhere to go and nothing to do. People like that don’t vote.
Is one of the many reasons for this grinding poverty and hopelessness LBJ’s Great Society good programs from the 60’s? Yes. Are all of the three quarters of this nation’s populace who don’t like President Bush like this? Absolutely not.
Something like this would not have happened in the Castro District of San Francisco or the artist’s enclave of Austin, Texas or my tight-knit ethnic neighborhood in Philadelphia; all communities full of “libs” by your definition. Chris, you’re extrapolating that anyone who isn’t part of the hard right–an aging, increasingly rural-based, and perpetually shrinking minority–would never help their fellow man in need. And that is simply untrue.

As a Canuck….it is common knowledge to us, that most Americans…of any ilk, will walk over someone before helping them. Its not really a liberal thing or conservative…its an American thing.

Also from being from the Northeast and now living in the South, I can vouch that you are far less likely to get assistance from anyone in the liberal northeast than the conservative deep south.
Once, my father’s boat broke down in the middle of the lake in New Hampshire. We floated over to a small dock and held on so the boat wouldn’t float away. We were within shouting distance of people sitting on a dock at a hotel. They refused to make eye contact or ask us if we needed help. Boats kept passing close by without stopping. Sure we had a cell phone and called someone at the marina for help, but I couldn’t help thinking that if this had happened in Alabama, that not a single person would have passed us by.
