Lest you think we forgot about Miz Porky–er, I mean Hillary…

I guess since Hillary hasn’t been able to keep up with Barack Obama in the fundraising game, she’s looking for money to hold her Senate seat. Lots of it, in fact.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) has requested nearly $2.3 billion in federal earmarks for 2009, almost three times the largest amount received by a single senator this year.
*gulp* What the hell? $2.3 Billion? With a B? Wow. I guess since it’s too late for the New York primary, she’s just covering her bases. Hey, how’s she going to run in 2012 if she can’t keep her seat in New York? A girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do, and what’s $2.3 billion between friends? Errr….oh yeah. Triple what everyone else asked for.
This would have been a sweet talking point during the general election; too bad she had to go and tank on us in the primary. No matter. Obama’s nicely compromised on this subject as well: $98 million in special earmarks for FY2008 compared to a big fat doughnut for McCain.
Got that? A big fat doughnut. None of that drunken sailor spending for McCain, which should make even the most anti-Mac conservatives happy as well, at least. (”Should,” but I usually choose not to read the often-deranged chatter in the Hot Air comments.)
Maybe Hillary’s buying everyone in New York State their own flak vests and helmets to protect them from sniper fire. Probably a fleet of armored personnel carriers, too.

truth is all of them foul with regards to economic proposals, however i cant even fathom McCainanomics

Damn, rawdawg, I thought you were gonna be one of the Kamikaze Conservative commenters from Hot Air, talking about how McCain’s “way too liberal” or something. Heh. I was already to go off on a tear about how…eh, nevermind. ;-) Here’s McCainomics for you.
BTW, you know that “100 years in Iraq” meme is Howard Dean’s distortion; he thinks you (Democrats and/or independents) are too stupid to understand what McCain was talking about. Even Barack Obama made a similar comment himself about Iraq. Of course, he’s singing Dean’s tune now, because he’s been
indoctrinatedconvinced that it’s a winning strategy by that Big Winner™ (yyeeeaaaarrggghh!) Howard Dean.In case you don’t believe me: 1) nobody is President for more than 8 years, 2) he won’t live for a hundred more, and 3) we haven’t even been in Europe for 100 years yet, and we’ve slowly lowered our presence there over the last several decades–while we’ve been at peace. Which is the kind of scenario McCain was talking about, of course, and it was merely hyperbole, not an actual PLAN of “100 years” by any stretch of an honest imagination.;)
Lord Bitememan says:
That’s a hell of a lot of money. With regards to her prospects in the Democratic race, she might be getting outraised, but she’s definately holding her own in the support game. A few recent polls have shown a reduction in Obama’s support in Nortch Carolina. The most dramatic one is Public Policy Polling, who had Obama up by 25 a week ago, now has him up by only 12. Survey USA has him up by only 9. In contrast, Survey USA has clinton up by 9 in Indiana. Obama can have all the money in the world to his name, but if he is drubbed in Indiana, and fails to make a good showing in North Carolina, the race is definately going to the convention floor.
Beth says:
Survey USA is usually pretty close - they seem to get closer to the actual result than anyone does.
You’re right - if (I think it’s “when”) he gets thumped in Indiana and doesn’t thump Billary right back in NC, there’s gonna be a lot of holdout superdelegates that WILL take it to the convention, Howard Dean be damned. (Please!)
It’ll be especially sweet seeing Dean go down in flames. :D
I wonder what Silky Pony is thinking right now with the NC primary looming…he’s gonna have to endorse one or the other for it, and you just know he doesn’t want to now. I figured he’d give it to Barry Obama, but I dunno now…not unless Hillary self-immolates again (another Bosnia Sniper Incident would kill her run for good).

Thanks for the remind. McCain is on campus this morning (well, he’s over at Moffitt, which is only a short walk). Have to try and get over there. See if I can get some pics.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Howard Dean’s reign as Donk in Chief. That twit has done more to bring that party down from the inside than anyone else since maybe Jimmah in the 1980 election.
Idiot Democrats. They had to know Dean was going to be trouble in the long term. Sure, he may have been good at fund raising and energizing the base - but his indecision and utter lack of leadership are glaring examples of why we all dodged a HUGE bullet in 2004 thanks to his Yeeeeaaaaargh speech.
The Donks success in the 2006 elections wasn’t so much a credit to them. It happened because of the Republicans’ incompetence and lack of direction.
I think the ideal ticket for the Dems in 2012 will be Howard Dean/Jeremiah Wright. What could go wrong?
Lord Bitememan says:
Incidently, I stumbled on something interesting at Rasmussen today. According to them while the Dems enjoy a generic advantage over the Republicans on a number of issues, McCain when personally sized up against the specific Democratic candidates has a trust advantage on these issues. Can be read
