Wright, who retired in early 2008 as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Senator Obama is a member, has been at the center of controversy for comments he made during sermons, which surfaced in the press in March. Take note of the third and fourth clips. “He says what he has to say as a politician. … He responded as a politician.” This, of course, is no surprise to me. It was and is patently obvious that Barack Obama merely says what “he has to say as a politician” in order to get votes. It has no bearing whatsoever on what he obviously believes.
By the way, Rev. Wright - we may not be experts in Black Liberation Theology and Dr. James Cone, but by now I think most serious people who have complaints HAVE done research into what it’s about. It isn’t just heresy, it’s hateful, anti-American, divisive, Marxist heresy. We don’t want a divisive President who’s full of hate and anti-American Marxist ideology, especially one who lies about it.

Barack Obama has denied hearing hateful rhetoric from his pastor of 20 years. An ongoing PJM investigation finds that there is much evidence indicating that the junior senator from Illinois is not being entirely truthful.
“Not entirely truthful,” to say the least. Barack Obama is going to have to answer for it, whether he completely repudiates it or owns up to it. Pretending he “didn’t know” about the black liberation theology preached by Jeremiah Wright (and Otis Moss) isn’t going to cut it.

Yeah, I don’t get it. I can’t believe he’s running his mouth, but then I get the feeling this clown loves the publicity. I mean, who the hell had heard of Jeremiah Wright before all this stuff blew up? Maybe he just doesn’t really give a damn about Barry since Barry’s playing dumb about everything now. This guy is a real piece of work.
SH, I’m not surprised about the comments at YouTube. It’s the biggest repository on the internets for comments by the brain-dead. I’m thinkin’ you’ve got a plan there with the timeshare sales. ;)

It really was a great interview. You obviously didn’t watch the whole thing. Rev. Wright adequately contextualized those sensationalized sound bites and said nothing heretical. Pay better attention next time or don’t write about what you didn’t watch.

You have GOT to be kidding, Shayne. How about you don’t read about what you don’t want to know? “Adequately contexualized?” Sure, if you think America is BAD BAD BAD and wanted him to build his case for “chickens coming home to roost” and “God damn America.” I, for one (along with most of America) don’t see America as the evil, rapacious empire of evil that Wright sees.
Basically, you’re full of crap if you think I didn’t watch it. In fact, I watched the interview AND I watched the videos provided at YouTube by the TUCC. But go ahead and believe what you want to believe, with your blinders on.
And regarding heresy, the heresy is in Liberation Theology itself (whether Black LT or otherwise, but particularly the BLT as spouted by James Cone and his followers), in whole. “Must reject God” if God isn’t on his side? Um, NO. That’s heresy, all right, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s Marxist ideology wrapped up in theological language. It is NOT the word of God, it is the word of man–Marxist man, at that.

Unless the context of Wright’s statement was “Osama bin Laden said ‘God damn America,’” there is absolutely no way that one could present his remarks out of context. God damn America is God damn America, whether he builds a case for it or not in the rest of the speech.

I think Obama’s sycophants forgot what “context” means. If all we heard was “God Damn America” and nothing else and if Wright were actually repeating something someone else said (and condemned it), THAT would be context.
It is to laugh. They just don’t get that we see what he says as dead wrong on all counts.
Of course, Shayne and all of Obama’s other disciples almost certainly agree with Wright’s sentiments, so they see nothing to complain about. They fail to see that most people believe Wright is not only WRONG, but he’s repellent for using the name of God to lend authority to his radical worldview. Of course, these same people go nuts when some priests/pastors say abortion is a sin (for example), claiming that it’s just wingnuttery using God to lend authority to wingnuttery. No “context” would change that, either. But as usual, what applies to the Right and what applies to the Left are two very different things. We need “context” and to get “educated” (indoctrinated); they don’t because they already have all the answers.

Wright is as condescending as Obama. Does anyone really believe that he and Obama do not discuss politics? Wasn’t he on his faith council until asked to leave?…He stated that Obama, “the politician”, only said in his race speech what he needed to in order to survive the campaign; intimating that he really didn’t mean what he said and didn’t have to. He got off easy with Moyers. Somehow, in his rant about the innocents, he forgot to mention that destroying innocents is one of his God’s specialties. Can’t he remember Canaan? Rip the babies from wombs…hamstring the horses? How about innocent Egyptians, women and children in the flood or Sodom? I think the reverend knows a good deal about politics and how to manipulate facts.
