The Barack Obama Song: The “Audacity For Nope.”
- Posted by Beth on April 13th, 2008 filed in 2008 election, Barack Obama, Candidates, Music, Politics, Video
The “Barack Obama Song” strongly questions the ideology behind the Barack Obama sound byte driven socialist Presidential campaign. This song goes on to discuss the role that government-run programs have played in destroying personal initiative and pride.
Much better than will.i.am’s “Yes We Can.” (Frankly, I never understood the hype about that one.)

Lord Bitememan says:
Why are there no conservative death metal bands? There’s Christian death metal. There’s even Japanese death metal. Why no conservative death metal?
Sierrahome says:
I wanna be in your garage band Lord–any room for a pedal steel or maybe the mighty Hammond B-3???
Beth says:
Oh, but I’m sure there are conservative metal bands! AFAIK, Slayer (while not technically death metal) leans right. “Silent Scream” is about abortion, from the perspective of the baby.
I know there are others, but I’ll have to look to find ‘em.
BTW, are you following my last.fm stuff? (Death metal FTW!)
Beth says:
Duh, I’m stupid. Iced Earth! Not death metal, but definitely metal. Def. conservative, too.
sierrahome says:
Look, I have all these keyboards and “samples”–I’ve got all the Rap effects/riffs I need–I just need some really good words–white guy words–conservative Midwest/Southern white guy words .
Lord Bitememan says:
Hadn’t been following last.fm, no. But, I’ll credit the extreme metal genre two for one and say anything death, thrash, or speed metal is just fine by me.
Sierra, sure. Now all we need is a guitarist, basist, drummer, and vocals and we’ll have a band. Then, we have to figure out what my role is going to be. :)

Not sure about political leanings, but POD definitely has religious and pro-life songs. I was listening to them before they got big time. Came across them at rockforlife.org.
I think Dave Mustain leans right as well. That’s the hard part, trying to find out, since most conservative artists tend to keep quiet.
Beth says:
Dave Mustaine USED TO be a big lib, but I don’t know if he is any more. I read something a few months back that would indicate that he leans more right now, too.
POD? Yeah, they are. I never got into them, though, although my stepdaughter did for a while. (Probably why I didn’t like them–who wants to listen to the crap their kids listen to? LOL)

Came across this: Iraqi metal band.

And Mustaine may be more libertarian than conservative.

My kids ended up listening to my music after they grew out of the pop (read Disney artists) phase. My middle daughter (she’s 10) has been listening to Flyleaf and Skillet with me. Guess she thinks I have good taste in music.
