He must be coming to share his bitterness with us, although I presume he’ll be leaving his guns at home. The Anchoress, wallowing in bitterness, looks up to Pope Benedict with admiration here.

I am watching something through my Caaaatholic eyes unfold as Pope Benedict is using the older staff with a simple cross and not a Crucifix. This Pope knows what he’s doing here and it is many dimensions deep but in the process he will be handing terrorists much more than a hot ‘tater. Restraint coupled with Christian redemption when handled with the “Power” of his Station will have ramifications.

For many years the Staff the Pope carried was with a Crucifix upon it–part of the Church since the plagues fell upon Europe. Although the simpler cross is in much favor it has not been used in (I’m thinking) 40 years–the staff he (I am betting) will follow will be that of Christ the Redeemer–I am sure plenty of folks (I can put me in that too) are not the least bit happy about thinking that the 9/11 boys deserve Redemption but please understand he is laying out for the world to see Christ the Redeemer who died for all men. The Boys of the moon god will have none of it–NONE OF IT–it runs dimensions deep –now finally a man with wisdom faith and courage faces not just terrorist but those who would not agree with his approach. To quote Bush Sr. “watch and learn”.

I welcome the Pope to America. We need more people like him talking to our country. I am not Catholic- just a bitter gun-clinging jeebus-weepy typical white person- but I respect the Pope and the faith he represents.

This bitter, gun-totin’, non-Catholic welcomes him. I’ve been impressed by some of his speeches. Like sierra said, I think this pope is making it clear which religion is about life, both in the here and the hereafter.
