Ping/trackback problems with Wordpress 2.3?

HALP!

I was trying to figure out why the Anchoress wasn’t getting internal pings since I upgraded her to the latest Wordpress release, and I also tried sending her pings/trackbacks from my testing blog (also on WP2.3). Then I started to think (uh oh!)…I haven’t seen any pings or trackbacks here lately, either. I just thought it was because my blog sucks, but now I’m wondering if it’s also because they aren’t working properly…?

Is anyone aware of a problem? Google is not my friend in this case–I haven’t found anyone mentioning it yet. I’m stumped.

Will someone please try to send me a ping/trackback–especially if you’re using WP 2.3?

    Give me a moment to gin up a test post back at my place for you, but I suspect something odd happened to the wp-trackback.php file during the upgrade. Question; which 2.3 are you running, 2.3.0, 2.3.1 or 2.3.2?

    One more thing to double-check - make sure that the “Allow link notifications from other blogs (trackbacks and pingbacks)” is checked in the Options >> Discussion page of the admin. If it is, try unchecking it, save the change, re-check it, and save the change again.

    I’ve tried from my main blog to this post (manually entering in the trackback address, which for some reason is missing here, and the admin panel says it should be in your hopper), and from my Marblehead Regiment blog to the “51 quotes” post (running WordPress MU, no apparent success there with the “auto-pingback”).

    I do know my trackbacks/pingbacks work from at least my main blog (sometimes even when I don’t necessarily want them to :-)

    I’m running 2.3.2, and I have pings allowed by default on all posts (except old ones).

    Oh, and the t/b address is up above, right above “x responses to (post name).” Maybe I should move that to make it more noticeable?

    It’s like it only ignores trackbacks & pings from other Wordpress blogs, and it doesn’t seem to be restricted to 2.3.2. Nicki from Nitallica.org tried it from her test blog running 2.3.1 and it didn’t show up here either. Jane from Armies of Liberation tried, but I’m not sure what version she’s running (I’m going to go look), and it didn’t work either.

    This is stoopid. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure it’s worked at all since I upgraded to 2.3’s first iteration.

    Extremely odd. Two more questions before I suggest heading to the WordPress forums:

    - What version did you update from to 2.3?
    - When you updated to 2.3, did you follow the recommended directions, including deleting the old files first?

    I was having this issue since upgrading to 2.3.2

    i just did what steveegg says and posted on my test blog and the trackback was recieved

    Turns out it was the Bad Behavior plugin. It’s been updated since this was posted, so all is well now. :)
