Why they “don’t have this problem” of homosexuality in Iran

Ahmadinejad’s “answer” to the question about homosexuality in Iran: “We don’t have this problem in Iran.”

Of course they don’t.

Iran gay executions

Also, women are respected in Iran. Right. Further, they (Ahmadinejad and the mullahs) “propose more humane methods of establishing peace.” (No thanks.)

Notably, there was plenty of applause from the brilliant Ivy-Leaguers during his idiotic blather, except after his denial of homosexuality in Iran. They’re so open-minded their brains fell out! (VIDEO at Hot Air of the “no gays” nonsense.)

Credit where it’s due: Lee Bollinger didn’t softball it. (VIDEO at Hot Air.) Well done. Not that Ahmadinejad would answer anything coherently or honestly, but still, duly noted. I’m still not sure why anyone expected to hear anything but lies and propaganda during this silly event.

Credit where it’s not due: ROTC is still not allowed at Columbia, but Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is.

Matt Sanchez:

I’m never surprised by what my school Columbia University will do or say, not even when they’ll invite men like Ahmadinejad to speak but will refuse people like Ann Coulter or members of the United States military.

Awww, Mahmoud’s own Chris Crocker (”sans the eyeliner”)! With bonus Juan Cole cognitive dissonance!
Because we need Ahmadinejad! (Project much?)

The Left: Useful idiots since 1922!

I’ve seen enough of their sickening apologetics (when they can be arsed to comment at all) over the last couple of days. They just make it too easy.
[Worst digg thread EVER here; note that out of countless related links there today, this is the one that was front-paged. Digg sucks.]

Here’s one who gets it. Andrew Sullivan, saying little, apparently gets it. Towle Road, too (read the comments there as well). Gay bloggers (aside from this nutjob), and not the others? Hmmmm. “Tolerance,” indeed.

And now we have Ahmadinejad’s quote of the day!
—On executions of homosexuals in Iran:
In Iran we don’t have homosexuals like in your country. We don’t have that like in your country. … In Iran we do not have this phenomenon….

LOL–as soon as I heard him say that I had the same thought and put a note on the blog that I guess the last two were hung. I also noted there was a gay rights group with a web site coming out of Iran. Apparently they exist in case any Iranian happens not to read the law (which prescribes lashings and death) and decides to become a homosexual.

But you gotta hand it the guy–he got balls to be able to get up and say something like that with a straight (no pun intended) face:)
