Senator Schumer Gets a Pass on Slandering the Troops

Newsbusters is reporting that Armchair General Media hog Senator Chuck Schumer is getting a pass from the old media for his comments slandering our Troops in a speech he gave on the floor last week. In fact, the old media has whitewashed it altogether.
The passage of his speech in question is completely reworded for the transcripts.
Ta-da. Just like magic!
Here’s what the all-American Senator who loves God and Country said:
And let me be clear. The violence in Anbar has gone down in spite of the Surge, not because of the Surge.
The inability of American soldiers to protect these tribes from Al Qaeda said to these tribes, “We have to fight Al Qaeda ourselves.”
And here is what is posted on his Senate website:
And let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge.
The lack of protection for these tribes from al Qaeda made it clear to these tribes, “We have to fight al Qaeda ourselves.”
Funny how those things happen. Just a turn of phrase I guess. I’m sure if it was important it’d be all over the news and he’d be accused of something or the other. Maybe be accused of lying, slander, trying to cover up his meaning, rewriting his own history, something. Never mind, the media ignores it so it must not be important. Turn the page.
Newsbusters has taken a gander around the internet and can’t find a thing written about it.
Sweetness and Light has this to say:
Mr. Schumer will say anything to try to bring about America’s defeat in Iraq and in the war on terror in general. For the Senator is also a traitor.
But, it turns out, Chuck Schumer is not only a liar and a traitor, he is a coward as well.
I just wonder will anyone ever hold any of these people responsible for the words they use against our own country?

Scott says:
Hard decision I know- If I had to pick the most despicable serpent within the demonrat’s lair of pit-vipers, Chuckie Schmuckster would be my first choice (Diane Itsallminestein would finish a close second).
When I first heard him say this, -to me- the sound effect was worse than that of what you would hear when two ships slowly collide and the steel is slowly crumpled into a heap of destruction.
Immediately, I figured the MSM would let it fly on by unnoticed and untouched.
Beth (Blue Star Chronicles) says:
Well, Scott, I’m sure it was just a slip of the tongue. I’m sure he didn’t meeeaaannnn to say it. He just jumbled his words up. It all depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is. And all that other stuff they say. :eyeroll:
Scott says:
Yea Buddy. Of course … he didn’t mEAnnnn what he said; he merely fumbled his words. He’s under all of this stress ya know, with All of the failed BUSH policies and all. I mean like … how much can a Harvard Lawyer take. He’s only human -NOT Superman.
Bottom line is:
 We ALL know HE supports the troops.
