I noticed that the numbers for IE6 users is down to about 50%, so it’s time for action from some of our most intrepid web developers!!!!!!!!!!*ahem*
What may be needed is for a coupla developers to embargo IE6 & put a litte banner on some sites that says, “This site will not display correctly in IE6.
Download & install FireFox at ” or InternetExplorer7 at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx”
When other site devpers see that, it might start catching on!!!!
It might also be helpful to include some tutorial & support site links for the
GUM0WUs (Great Unwashed Masses of Windows Users) (Which I will be soon joining, for totally altruistic & masochistic reasons! Linux is just way too easy!!)
Another idea to help promote this could be a web devper making a video of downloading & installing FireFox on a typical windows XP/Vista box or lappy.
It’s very easy & quick, but windows paranoia stops most peeps from even thinking ’bout it. The vid would help overcome the fear & loathing!! FWIW?
