Shamelessly pandering to the leftards
- Posted by Martin on July 29th, 2007 filed in 2008 election, General, John Edwards, Martin
“I think Washington is broken … I think it is rigged against you,” said Edwards as the crowd erupted in applause.
Which might prompt the question “Why didn’t you tell us that during the six years you worked there?”
“We are the worst polluters in the world,” said Edwards, adding that unlike other Democrats, he does not want to solve the problem through an increase in nuclear power plants.
I suggest a combination of wind, solar, hydro, elven spells and pixie dust be deployed to confront this most pressing of all the issues facing America.
At the conclusion of the event, man-of-the-people Edwards and his staffers climbed aboard a solar-powered Gulfstream IV and flew to his hairdresser’s house.

John Edwards vs. Fred Thompson. That’d be an interesting election. 2 Southerners duking it out. Battle of the South. I kinda like the sound of that.
Otherwise, for better or worse, the Democrats are stuck with Hillary. Maybe Bill’s silver palate will persuade enough voters to go with her. 4 years of Hillary. Yes…that’d be like the Hubby gettin’ henpecked every nite from the wife & Ms. President for an unprecedented 48 months. :winking:

Your recommendation of wind power has great merit.
I would suggest that, in addition to the traditional wind farms, smaller wind generators be placed at strategic locations within both houses of Congress, to make good use of the hot air generated there.
I believe that squirrel cages, scaled to fit something the size of a human being, could be fitted with generators. Representatives and Senators, placed within these devices, could generate power while not making speeches: particularly if presented with imitation constituents to chase.
Sadly, I doubt that our leaders will see fit to implement such plans.

Actually, I think that John Edwards is the Democrats’ best hope. Hillary and Obama more closely resemble the profiles of regional as opposed to national candidates. Plainly put, they don’t have enough appeal to win. Hillary in particular, is an extremely alienating figure. I think she’d set the Democratic Party back.
Edwards seems to be the only one of the Democratic candidates who is able to reach out to the broadest spectrum of the electorate. Even if he was to come up short, he’d still do better than the others and would demonstrate that the Democrats are serious about trying to win in places like the South.

Bwaahahaha
The guy who owns has a small mall for a house and gets $400 haircuts can relate to fly-over country? Bwaahaha
Thanks. I needed a good laugh for Monday morning.

—Well, he might need a running mate that could balance out his ticket. Say an older more seasoned hand like John Breaux? I think he’s another rich guy. ‘Just a thought. Anyway, it wouldn’t take much for the Democrats to pick up the WH this time. They only lost in OHIO in 2004. If they can pick up all of the other states plus that one, the WH is theirs. I hear that Edwards is popular in places like Iowa. Maybe he could pick up New Mexico too. John Breaux might net him Louisiana and a couple of other Southern states. Here’s a chart that gives an indication how the 2008 presidential race might unfold. Looks like it’ll be another red state blue state tug-of-war.
