An Imus moment? Maybe not. But it’s a really tacky cheap shot. What a smarmy, thoughtless jerk. Jeri Thompson is pretty, therefore she must be a stripper!

As Michelle Malkin says, “Scarborough owes Thompson and his wife an apology.” Yes, but really, just as with Imus, an apology isn’t really going to take away the disrespect shown or the mentality that spawns that kind of crack.
I wonder, is Joe Scarborough married? What’s his wife look like? I wonder if he thinks it’d be appropriate for people to make those kind of comments about his wife? Maybe the only “attractive” (scare quotes intentional) women he knows are strippers?
I wish I could remember what (very) minor left-wing blog it was where I saw some mouth-breather slagging Fred Thompson for having a (warning: shocking!) younger second wife (she’s 40), and wondering how the conservatives would “react.” HAHAHA. OMG, noooo! A pretty forty year-old wife! Scandalous! Worse, a second marriage (years after the divorce with his first wife, I should note)!!! How on earth did we let such an immoral man capture our attention!?! Maybe I’ll find it later, although I am loathe to give such asinine nonsense any attention.
Oh, wait…thanks to USA Today’s story, I see Taylor Marsh has jumped on the “conservatives are uptight prudes” meme, too. ‘Cause you know, we’re all ass-ugly and ign’ant, so a man who has a pretty wife with brains…OMGSCARY!!!
You’ve got to wonder if this will freak out conservative wives. The thought of a president having a hottie “trophy wife,” as she’s been called. It’s not exactly a selling point to conservatives, especially considering these people are scared to death of any woman with looks and also possibly a brain.
