First off, let me say that this:
I support the Patriot Act, and I believe that it only violates the rights of those who wish to harm us. Or worse, kill us.
There is no “right to privacy” written in the Constitution. That “right” was adjudicated by 9 people wearing black robes who took the term “supreme” a little too seriously, thanks to Marbury v. Madison.
I do know, however, that there is a right to defend oneself against intrusion upon one’s personal property, which, in a way, is a right to privacy. We just didn’t need some morons to extend the meaning to things that didn’t apply, like killing unborn children.
I am a free market capitalist. I believe in entrepenuership. I cheer when the little guy makes it big through good old fashioned ingenuity. Despite its faults, YouTube was created by four ex-PayPal employees in a garage.
You get my meaning.
This is one time, however, that these positive forces come together to make a negative. You have government funded GPS satellites being used to conduct unwanted surveillance on everyone and anyone, all being done by a company that expects to profit from its obscene behavior by cashing in on your obscene behavior.
Orwell was wrong. Big Brother is not the “Government.”
This, the entrepreneur, is the true Big Brother.
