Lazy (but must-read) links

Sorry, I don’t have time to write the intro all of these deserve; just trust me, you have to click them.

First: Reconciling Two World Views (Villainous Company)–contrasting a Saudi reformists’ words with those of a self-described “defender of the liberal tradition” (who would characterize said Saudi reformist as an “Islamophobe”). Irony alert!

Next: Another empty symbolic gesture (James Lileks)–a wonderfully snarky Lileks take on the Oscars. Er, make that “the High Holy Mass.” LOL.

Then: Eric Alterman Wants A “Council Of Bloggers” To Patrol For Bad Blogger-Citizenship (Ace)–Alterman = douchebag. As always, you have to go through the comments there too, for the full effect. (There are even some freshly-baked brownies! ~cringe~)

Finally: Guess who’s bought two million shares in Halliburton? (Foreign Policy blog) Via QandO, where McQ asks a pointed question about it, about which I’m suuuure we’ll hear more (from the left…NOT!).

NOW, GO BUY STEVE’S BOOK! Yes, NOW!

The Good the Spam and the Ugly

Congratulations, Steve! (I’m pissed, I missed him on teevee this morning, and I have had the teevee on all morning!)

I couldn’t get the video to work last night. I guess I’ll have to wait until it gets on YouTube. I am really happy for Steve H.’s success. He’s a funny man and he deserves it.

As for the defender of liberal tradition, one of his new Muslim friends repeatedly called me a liar last night in one of the threads regarding his “laying down the law” regarding the discussion of Islam. My days of commenting there are over — my choice. I don’t know if I’m banned or not. I blogged about the incident to try and get the anger out of my system.
