A few words about Amanda Marcotte/Melissa McEwan

Reason #87349 why I hate the blogosphere

First, Darleen says that Salon’s reporting Marcotte and McEwan have been fired. Hot Air says it’s so as well. We’ll see.

OK, I think this brouhaha is stupid. Needless to say, the whole “foul-mouthed” complaint means nothing to me. I think people are making a big farking deal over nothing with her foul language. It’s not something we don’t see at right-wing blogs, and not just mine. One of the TOP conservative blogs–has stuff that theoretically ought to warrant the same scolding from Malkin, although I would roll my eyes about that, too. Oooooh, bad words! How about “suck the barbed c*ck of Satan.” Think that’s family-friendly? Would Malkin and everyone else be as shocked! and appalled! if that blogger (whom all of you know) were picked up by someone’s campaign? I venture to say they wouldn’t. NOR SHOULD THEY BE, in either case. Amanda can be criticized for her hate-filled, radical, wacko beliefs that certainly won’t appeal to voters, but the language thing is a bit hypocritical for most people to be complaining about.

Now, if someone asked ME to be their Blogmaster (what a stupid word), I’d decline immediately. I know what I’ve written is not for everyone, and I wouldn’t want any candidate I’m for to be associated with my foul-mouthed rants. Amanda’s a farking moron. Or maybe not. I have to wonder if she didn’t take the job knowing FULLY WELL this would happen, because she’s a fangirl of Obama or someone else less…Southern/Christian/photogenic/fluffy. Edwards seems like the last candidate she’d be supporting. The absolute last (of the current field of candidates, obviously).

All that said, I have zero sympathy for the bitch. Her hatred of Catholicism and religion in general is well-known to a lot of bloggers. When most of the country is NOT hostile to religion, and in fact, is Christian in some flavor (believe it or not, echo-chamber Atheists!), you’d better know that you’re going to deeply offend a lot of people with filth like this or this or this, where she called Pope John Paul II “a wicked man” before his dead body was even cold. She’s a hateful, filthy bigot–not just against Catholics, but against any Christians. (Side note: I wonder if the born-again leftist Ilyka has shed the brutal chains of Catholicism, since she happily took up blogging at Pandagon?)

Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan are especially destructive bigots in another area: women. Women like me, that is. You see, because I’m pro-life, pro-victory in Iraq, Christian (although not of any particular denomination), etc.–in other words, conservative–I’m also living in a 1950’s mentality where I want to be “saved” by men and think my Oh So Hallowed Cunt (her favorite word) is only there for procreation. I’m oppressed, repressed, suffering from the abuse of The Patriarchy. Stupid bitch apparently believes women are, by default, like this until they “get smart” and break free of the death-grip of The Patriarchy. That pisses me off more than anything she says–she’s a farking narrow-minded, bigoted, anti-female (yes!) idiot. She apparently has never even bothered to get to know women in real life who are actually *not* obsessed or oppressed by The Patriarchy. What would she say about Elizabeth Edwards? Or does she not count because she’s a liberal? I’d venture to say her lifestyle is more “traditional” than mine. After all, I’m divorced (twice!) and I served in the military for twelve years. I’m not looking for a husband–I prefer NOT being married. I just do what I want, say what I want, think what I want–not what the paranoid delusion of “The Patriarchy” wants. Not exactly the June Cleaver lifestyle, is it? But that doesn’t matter, because ad hominems are the name of the game with people like Marcotte. She pulled that shi’ite when we started Cotillion, and in response, I actually emailed her a very nice note saying that rather than having silly blogfights, maybe we could work together on some things on which we agree. Nope! I got back a snotty email, the general gist being “yeah, right.” Great, Amanda. I’m sure all your enemies in The Patriarchy would be pleased–after all, anyone with a brain knows about “Divide and Conquer.” (You know, since there’s a War On The Patriarchy going on. LOL.) What a moron.

Anyway, when you’re THAT far out of the mainstream w/r/t women “vs.” men, religion, abortion, Duke lacrosse, EVERYTHING, you’d better be able to take your lumps. Actually, anyone with a blog should be able to answer for what they write. It’s not like anyone’s poking around her personal life as they did with Ben Domenech, remember? (No, I’m not defending Domenech, and never did except for when he was attacked for being home-schooled.) It’s rather telling that she’s had to scrub her archives (not enough, if you ask me, but then I think her whole blog is pretty obnoxious). I just think it’s funny that a empty-suited Breck Girl like John Edwards has brought on a blogger that was bound to draw some fire. What next, Glenn the sockpuppet Greenwald? (Oh, please, someone hire him! HAHA!) Seriously, there are others who are less inflammatory–what the hell were they thinking?

I can just see it now: if they (Marcotte and McEwan) are fired, it’ll be because of The Patriarchy. They’re expected to be good, polite ladies, right? HAHA. Like those moron male bloggers on the left wouldn’t get the same treatment for making obscene remarks about the Virgin (OMG!) Mary or the Catholic Church or anything else Amanda’s written. Just watch–she’s gonna make it a “sexist” issue, I guarantee it. Probably with bonus anti-”Christianist” venom, to boot. Just watch their true colors come back with a fury.

Word has it now (via email) that the moonbats are on the hunt for foul-mouthed right-wingers. Well, here I am, nutroots! Dig away! I have nothing for which I need to apologize. Hypocrites.
