Take the Pledge for the Troops

Pay attention, y’all, ’cause this doesn’t come from me often; in fact, as the blogosphere’s Unofficial 11th Commandment Sheriff, you may not see it in any other case. This time, some in the GOP have gone way, way too far.

Take the pledge, and tell the NRSC:

If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

Hugh Hewitt adds:

Then e-mail Senator McConnell and Senator Ensign, and tell them too. Senator McConnell’s phone number is (202) 224-2541. Senator Ensign’s phone number is (202) 224-6244.

Still more about this from Hewitt HERE. Make this a blog swarm–wake those bastards up!

I am furious at their betrayal. Their damn Senate seats are nothing to me compared to national security and our military. Like those who lost in November, they are all replaceable. Hagel’s been a lost cause for a long time, but John Warner? Self-serving piece of shi’ite. He’s no better than the other self-serving piece of shi’ite Senator (Webb) in Virginia. They’re definitely two of a kind.

I don’t even care if you want to copy this post in its entirety to yours, just get the word out. And WRITE/CALL the NRSC and Senate Republican leadership to put a stop to this bullshi’ite appeasement! It has nothing to do with the war, and everything to do with self-preservation!

UPDATE: Filthy whores. (Via Raven, who’s also taken the Pledge.)

UPDATE 2: Others taking the pledge (among many others not listed here): Alabama Improper, LindaSoG, 7.62mm Justice. (More at Technorati.)
