Illiberal “antiwar” leftists want America to lose in Iraq

OK, I realize we all know this already. I’ve said it countless times; so have most of you. Writing in a substantive piece about the leftard attacks on lefty Joe Klein (of all people!) because he is for victory in Iraq, Sister Toldjah says:

If America loses in Iraq, the Democratic party ‘wins.’

Yep, just like in Vietnam. We “lost” that one, and what do you hear about that? “We ended the war!” “We did it!” We me me me me. While agreeing that the liberals were “right” about Vietnam (obviously, I wholeheartedly disagree), Joe Klein adds today:

Liberals were “right” about Vietnam, but they have paid a price ever since because they were so obnoxious about their correctness.

Yeah, but they won! Nevermind those baby-killer Americans who died there; nevermind the fact that they were our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, neighbors, old high school friends, the kids who used to deliver the newspaper–they were “different” because they were willing to serve. And now with this war, where all are volunteers, these pathetic wastes of oxygen on the “antiwar” left see our military men and women as aliens even more. You know, they’re poor, stupid, gullible, ignorant, tricked into serving. Most won’t say it, but their very position throughout this war has betrayed their sentiments. The left doesn’t like those people, those unsophisticated flag-waving, Pledge-spouting hicks. Those BUSH voters. So why should they care if we lose?

These immature narcissists are hungry for another “win” for their side, and they’ll use anything to get it. Don’t you remember these unhinged lunatics when Bush was inaugurated the first time, turning their backs and throwing shi’ite at the motorcade during the parade? Can you imagine–what if everyone DID support victory in Iraq? They could bitch and complain about the economy, but–oh, wait. That won’t work. They could bitch and complain about Social Security, but it’s not a hot-button issue for most people and besides, only the GOP has tried (obviously unsuccessfully) to do anything about it. They could bitch and complain about health care, but the last big initiative (HillaryCare) was laughed out of existence–during her own husband’s administration, at that. They could always fall back on their pet issues (Free Mumia, the WTO, etc.), but nobody with a brain gives a rat’s ass about those lunatic fringe “issues.”

But war? How perfect! It’s a multigenerational, cross-cultural issue, and we progressives “won” that one in Vietnam! Just trot out those old slogans, make up a bunch of bullshi’ite (9/11 conspiracies, anyone? Flushing Korans?), and we’ll get people energized. That Bushi’iteler warmonger! (And by the way, he doesn’t care about black people, either!) Honestly, the fact that we’re at war couldn’t be more perfect for the left. Why do you think I consistently scare-quote “antiwar?” This despite their insistence that Bushcheneyrumsfeld cooked it up so they could “line the pockets of their oil buddies” and exert “totalitarian” power. Nevermind the twelve years prior to the hot war begun in 2003. Nevermind the fact that the war hasn’t done Bush or the Republican party any favors; war never has helped a sitting President, with the possible exception of FDR, but he had incredible support due to the end of the Depression. He probably could have eaten live kittens in public for breakfast every day and still not have been demonized even to the extent Gerald Ford was, much less Bush. So let’s just get off this bullshi’ite that the war was invented to seize power (and the oil meme is just mind-numbingly stupid). Apparently these seditionist morons haven’t noticed that the Democrats gained power in 2006, and Iraq had everything to do with it.

If you want to be tinfoil-hat silly about it, maybe the Democrats (mostly the Clintonista bureaucrats and spooks like Wilson, Plame, et cetera ad nauseum) “cooked up” the evidence in support of war in Iraq, just to take down the Bush presidency. What do they care? It’s obvious they don’t give a shi’ite about the lives of our military men and women, much less the lives of the millions who have been slaughtered by the “Caliphate’s” dictators and warlords. They certainly never cared about any of Saddam’s victims, that’s for sure. Hey, maybe Democrats were behind 9/11 too! Using conspiratard and leftard “logic” (LOL), the argument could be made. But since we’re not leftards, we don’t really believe our fellow Americans would do such a thing. We aren’t self-loathing, hateful “americans,” they are.

Think back to November 2000-January 2001 again. The Democrats were every bit as unhinged then as they are now, but that “selection” meme couldn’t hold water in the first place, much less for four (or eight!) years. It really IS about party over principle for them. It really is about Democrats “winning,” no matter what it takes. I don’t think they would even entertain the idea of opening their illiberal minds just to the argument that maybe this war must be won. They’re too busy screaming to listen, anyway. They’re at war against Republicans, and if Republicans want to win in Iraq (and elsewhere in the world against “the caliphate”), the illiberals must ensure the war in Iraq is lost, preferably in an humiliating manner as possible.

Too bad for them, though: those of us who believe in what we’re doing don’t care about which party “wins” in this matter. Like Bush, we support victory in Iraq and in the greater war on terror because it is right, not because it’s popular.
