What a very strange business - Polonium 210
- Posted by Martin on November 24th, 2006 filed in General, International, Martin
The assassination of the KGB guy. Very strange.
Why would you not whack him with a silenced handgun? You know, one behind the ear, old skool.
The point being that the universe of people who could access polonium 210 must be miniscule, but would undoubtedly include, say, the Russian government. (But not Saddam Hussein; he didn’t have any of that type of thing).
They also revealed that police have found radiation at three locations: his Muswell Hill home, a central London sushi bar where he ate shortly before falling ill, and a hotel where he had met two Russians that morning.
Seriously though, why use such an exotic method to erase the problem and attract so much attention in the process? Message-sending?
Perhaps the tuna was contaminated with a rare isotope, put into the ocean by Halliburton to warm it up!!
I blame Bush.

Mark Krauss says:
the Russians wanted him to know who did it, hence the method. and the russians don’t care if the west knows because they already now we wouldn’t do anything about it.
Beth says:
It’s pretty heinous. I guess old habits die hard.
Can’t say I’m a fan of Anna Politkovskaya (Chechen jihadist sympathizer), but this shi’ite with her and this guy not-so-mysteriously being killed is unfuckinreal.
beth says:
I hate that Mark is right. They don’t care if everyone knows because they aren’t afraid of us.
No one is afraid of us anymore. That’s pretty scary.
BTW - it’s a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Bushi’iteler is just a puppet - Chaney/Rumsfeld are pulling the strings.
Martin says:
I’m worried. The Russians have just delivered a big FARK YOU to the west. Why would they do that? It comes the day they confirm selling missiles to Iran. Scary.
Mark Krauss says:
Beth, Martin,
I hate to be right about this too, but the Russians and our Muslim enemies are forming a strong alliance against us, have been working towards that for years, and nobody wants to lift their heads up from their playstation and take notice here in the west.
I’m not too optimistic about my grandkids future. too few think freedom is worth the fight nowadays.
Mark Krauss says:
oh, big thumbs-up on the P.J. O’Rourke quote on your header!
Beth (Blue Star Chronicles) says:
I know Martin - I was thinking about those missiles too.
Blue Star Chronicles says:
Alexander Litvinenko Dies of Tiny Nuclear Bomb
What difference does it make to us if the Russians murdered a former KGB spy and defector? Should it really matter to us at all? Most of us never heard of Alexander Litvinenko prior to a couple of weeks ago.
Max says:
All a bit of an attempt to capitalise on an unfortunate accident… looks like Litvinenko’s Micro Nuclear Battery - which probably powered a transmitter - had ruptured, releasing the Polonium 210 into his body.
So the BBC report in which an unamed source at the hospital had revealed that 3 dense objects had shown up on an x-ray of his body, and that one of these objects had appeared to have been ruptured, was correct.
Therefore the police are not treating this as a ‘murder’, only as a ’suspicious death’. The rest of the unfounded rumour mongering is just anti Putin PR.
Jonathan Brooks says:
Thought American Elements’ website (www.americanelements.com)would a useful resource–info on Po 210 and 100s of other Isotopes, Nanomaterials, etc. (Disclaimer: I’m an engineer with the company!)
