Today’s Email to the Washington Post: Terror sympathizer writes Islamic propaganda in the WaPo
- Posted by Beth on October 22nd, 2006 filed in General, International, Islamofascism, Journalism, Moonbats, WTF
I’m not sure if you all allowed this despicable creature a column because she took a swipe at Pat Robertson–truly a nut, but far less dangerous than Islamic terrorists–or because you’re simply a fan of terror sympathizers, but Yvonne Ridley singing the praises of hijab while pretending to be a liberal? PLEASE!
-
Yvonne Ridley is a member of George Galloway’s RESPECT party, and has written numerous essays defending Islamic terrorism. She described those murdered in last year’s terrorist attacks in Jordan as “collaborators.” She wrote, “I think I’d rather put up with a brother like Abu Musab al-Zarqawi any day than have a traitor or sell-out for a father, son or grandfather.” She described Shamil Basaev, the mastermind of the massacre of Russian school children at Beslan, as “a Shaheed,” or martyr.
What next, Adam Gadahn? At least tell the complete truth about Ridley in your short bit about who she is ["Yvonne Ridley is political editor of Islam Channel TV in London and coauthor of "In the Hands of the Taliban: Her Extraordinary Story" (Robson Books)."]
It’s no wonder Islamic extremism is such a problem in the UK, with a woman like her being the political editor of Islam Channel! Are you trying to do the same?

WaPo gives three veiled perspectives

Islamo-feminists … more radical than Western feminists
You agree don’t you? Well, Yvonne at WaPo sez so, so it must be true! I was a Western feminist for many years, but I’ve discovered that Muslim feminists are more radical than their secular counterparts. We hate those ghastly…

[...] This is apropos of a set of three opinion pieces in the Washington Post on the subject of women veiling, one of which calls it a feminist act of freedom (as did that beeyotch who dumped me on Valentine’s Day). Turns out, though, that this writer is a British convert who has written articles defending Islamic terrorism. Another Beth, Beth of My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, has this little tidbit of information. The Anchoress is quick to draw the comparison to Catholic nuns, whom no good “progressive” would say have chosen freedom by taking vows and the other kind of veil (read the whole thing!). [...]
