Another Christian minister was murdered in Indonesia today. He was gunned down in cold blood and in broad daylight. This follows closely on the heels of the execution of 3 Christians for their alleged participation in sectarian violence. Violence, I would add, that has largely left the Christian minority victimized but for which no Muslim has been prosecuted.
Civil war is now brewing in Indonesia. If international pressure is not immediately brought to bear on the Indonesian government, I’m afraid violence will erupt. Even if Christians are only protecting themselves, any violence could only have one outcome. Indonesian Christians make up only 6-7% of that country. If you have ever read about the Indonesian occupation of East Timor ( a Catholic province), you know what to expect. Bloodshed on a massive scale and even further oppression.
I generally do not participate in boycotts, let alone try to organize them, but in this case I see no alternative. Indonesia is very sensitive about its image as a ‘moderate Muslim’ country. It goes out of its way at every opportunity to hold itself up as a model for the rest of the the Islamic world. A public pressure campaign could (knock on wood, fingers crossed) force them to do something about the increasingly intolerable conditions for Christians in dhimmitude to what is a ’secular’ Muslim country.
On a personal note, two Christian bloggers from Indonesia who also comment frequently on my site have now vowed to take up arms to protect Christians in Indonesia. Because I sort of like the idea of my commenters and fellow-bloggers not getting beheaded, I fear that if something is not done soon…..well, you know what happens when Christians fight back.
Please help if you can. Any brighter ideas than what I have outlined in this post would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of years ago, the church that I attend (and that denominations missionary program), had a missionary over there. Some violence broke out. He managed to get his family out (not himself). He was doing his best to get his flock out of harm’s way.
A young man in his church witnessed what happened (after the minister had helped him escape). He witnessed a childhood friend of his (who happened to be? Anyone?) take the minister and beheaded him. As far as we know, nothing ever happened to the savages. He became a real martyr, the kids fatherless, and his wife lost her soulmate. His wife and kids bear no ill will. I can’t say the same.
Nuke ‘em! All.

Cool GIF!! Thank you for making it!! For me it represents the blood spilled of the Christians, the Balinese, the Papuans and Chinese Indonesians who have suffered at the hands of Muslims and the Muslim Javanese Government. God bless you!!
