Still Missing: Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig

Still no news about Fox News’ Steve Centanni and Olaf Wigg, after eight days:
Mr Centanni and Mr Wiig were snatched when masked gunmen in two trucks surrounded their vehicle, which bore TV stickers, while it was parked near the PA security headquarters on August 14.
All the main factions in Gaza, who have been contacted by Fox executives and diplomats, have condemned the kidnapping. They included the Fatah party of President Mahmoud Abbas, the ruling Hamas party and the more radical Islamic Jihad. PA security forces are involved in the hunt for the two men.
“This is the first time the kidnappers haven’t identified themselves or their demands,” said a Palestinian security official. “Usually kidnappers announce who they are, sometimes as soon as they kidnap.”
Anita McNaught, Mr Wiig’s wife and a British broadcaster, made a televised appeal in which she said: “He and his colleague, Steve, don’t deserve this. They are good men and they should be allowed to come home.”
I trust the PA/Fatah/Hamas/Islamic Jihad to be telling the truth about as far as I can throw them all, but it’s certainly possible it’s someone else. It is strange that nobody’s identified themselves, though.
Michelle Malkin’s running a blogburst about the two missing journalists, in an attempt to get the story moving in the media. Maybe a lot of media pressure will force the terrorist c*ckroaches out of hiding.

With Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig still being held hostage by Palestinian terrorists, the Western media has received a potent reminder that broadcasting certain truths from inside Arab territory can result in devastating consequences.
While it is not clear the kidnappers’ motivation–they have yet to state any demands–this is just the latest in a string of abductions, which is in and of itself only part of the arsenal of heavy-handed media intimidation present in the region.
Thuggery helps explain the obscenely low volume of negative press coverage of the Palestinian Authority, Fatah, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others. But it doesn’t account for all, or even most, of the persistently slanted coverage.
