Did I mention we’re gonna be swimming next week?

Oh yes. I’m just that much of a bastard.
Hey, it was 104 today. You might as well ask me “why did you wait so long, dumb ass”?
I have no good answer.
Don’t ask about the funny pipe. Long story.

Martin says:
What’s the deal wth the funny pipe?
Beth says:
You know, if I had a filthy mind, I’d think that funny pipe with the thing sticking up was there on purpose.
raz0r says:
Yeah. What Martin said.
Dave in Texas says:
When we started excavation, we thought the sewer line went to the street.
We were wrong.
We looked for a plumber to reroute it, and nobody could get to it for two weeks. To keep the project going, the pool guys cut the line, dug everything out, and put in a temporary line. They just worked around it.
The line got rerouted, the one you see is just the old temporary line. They’ll take it out today.
I can’t tell you how many pool guys sent me emails asking “what the hell is that”?
Beth, that other pipe is supposed to be in the spa. They’ll move it today.
MCPO Airdale says:
Get a robotic pool vacumn. It is the best labor saving device out there for pool owners. Hope the pool supply store is near as you are about to become an expert on Ph levels!!
Dave in Texas says:
Master Chief, roger that. It’s part of the deliverables.
Chris says:
Dave,
Will this be a fiberglass pool or cement with liner type and just curious, why did you go that direction? We’re looking at getting an in-ground and are leaning fiberglass. Would appreciate any insight you can allow. Thanks. (oh, Hi Beth!).
Chris says:
Let me try that again. Didn’t know I had to use
the enter for line feeds.
Dave, Will this be a concrete with liner or a fiberglass pool? And
if I may ask, what made you decide to go that way? I am in
process of looking at in-grounds and am leaning toward getting
a fiberglass pool. Any insight you can allow would be
appreciated. Thanks.
Dave in Texas says:
Chris, gunite (concrete sprayed under pressure).
You can see all the progress at my moron-blog if ya want.
We decided to largely because of the slope of the back yard… it drops 4 feet from front to back. Structural integrity, pretty. The retaining wall kicks ass in my humble o.

Chris says:
Thanks Dave, That looks real good. I really like the spa.
I’ve all but decided on one of those factory made
fiberglass molded pools. I’m hoping to get a
“out of season” discount. Definitely take Thursday and
Friday off. Enjoy!
