(Hezbollywood pic shamelessly lifted from the delicious Bagel Blogger.)
Since my posts are getting kinda scattered about now and I don’t plan on having to set up another blog category for this (God knows there are plenty of other crises in journalism, anyway), I’m just going to put all the links to my relevant posts here, from first to last. The boldfaced ones are the more important ones–especially see “How’s this for a fake” because that issue is still not resolved.
- Who is Adnan Hajj?
- Reutergate: Picture Killed
- The “real” Reuters-Adnan Hajj photo found
- All Your Smoke Are Belong To Us
- Meanwhile, More Reuters Hezbollywood
- How’s This for a Fake?
- + + ORIGINAL F16 FAKE PHOTO FOUND - MUST CREDIT MVRWC + +
- Reutergate Goes Viral
I’m pretty much doing this list for my own purposes, because I’m getting scattered all over the place and can’t keep track of what I’ve written any more! (Need sleep…) And if you weren’t around this weekend, just scroll down. There is actually other stuff posted here as well, like this laughable shi’ite.
Oh, and one more thing, before I forget this point (again): In the “talkback” to the Jerusalem Post article about “Reutergate” (or whatever we’re calling it), this is said:
This photo makes it seem as though downtown Beirut is being hit. That is the biggest lie- there has been no report that Beirut has not been hit, only a southern dahiyeh (suburb or settlement) south of Beirut. That dahiyeh is occupied by Hezbollah.
And that’s what Michael Totten says, too. That’s been in my mind the whole weekend, as I’ve gone through countless photos. They all say they’re in Beirut’s southern suburbs, which is exactly the dahiyeh Totten referred to. See for yourself.
UPDATE @12:50 pm: Before I forget (I STG I’m never going to get to sleep, am I?) - Fox News has had a couple reports on TV today already about the Reutergate/Up In Smoke/whatever goofy name it’s being given/Adnan Hajj-Reuters photoshop deal. No blog names specifically mentioned, but they did say it was blogs. I’m sure they’ll be naming names later on today. They did show not only the goofy cloned smoke shot, but also the F-16 mess. Congratulations to Rusty, Charles Johnson, Jeff Harrell, and all the other photoshop sleuths. Maybe it’s not so much “congratulations” to be given, but THANKS.
UPDATE - Reuters withdraws all photos by Lebanese freelance
LONDON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Reuters withdrew all 920 photographs by a freelance Lebanese photographer from its database on Monday after an urgent review of his work showed he had altered two images from the conflict between Israel and the armed group Hizbollah.

As a friend of mine said, “if you can’t trust a douchebag called Adnan Hajj, who can you trust?”
More on Hezbollywood. Check out our “Green Helmet” friend, now starring in Tyre.
And a photoshopped image from AFP.

[...] I haven’t been online in 2 glorious days While I was out, there has been alot of talk about the reportedly faked (or photoshoped) photos of Adnan Hajj. Jeffery Harrell, of The Shape of Days, has a good analytical post. Beth at My Vast right Wing Conspiracy also has posts here, here and a very funny one here. Little Green Footballs and Michelle Malkin also weigh in on the story. [...]

I’ve been out of the loop for about a week and missed the whole thing, can you believe it? Just damn!
Thanks for the roundup and the crib notes. It’ll be a big help in catching up with latest battle in the media revolution.

Mark Levin had Charles Johnson on 77 WABC tonight. Talked about those photos and the e-mail death threat he received from a Reuters e-mail acount.
