135+ killed in Mumbai, India rail blast

Indian PM Singh blames terrorists, American Left to blame Bush, Iraq war, Jews

MUMBAI, India (CNN) — At least 135 people were killed in seven explosions on crowded commuter trains and stations Tuesday evening in the Indian financial capital of Mumbai, police said.

Officials said 250 to 300 people were injured in the blasts in the city’s western suburbs as commuters made their way home.

There was some confusion about the number of dead and injured as information was compiled from hospitals and explosion sites in Mumbai, the west Indian seaport previously called Bombay.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called an emergency meeting of his ministers, saying “terrorists” were behind the attacks, according to The Associated Press.

“Terrorists.” Notice they had to put that in quotation marks, to note that Singh, not THEY, had referred to terrorists as…terrorists. But I digress.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf strongly condemned the attacks, and a statement released by his country’s Foreign Ministry called them a “despicable act of terrorism.”

“Terrorism is the bane of our times and it must be condemned, rejected and countered effectively and comprehensively,” the statement said.

Earlier Tuesday, a grenade attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir killed at least four people. Authorities suspect militants are responsible for that attack on a minibus in Srinagar. There was no immediate indication of a connection to the Mumbai blasts.

Militants. Funny how Musharraf, the leader of India’s sworn enemy, has no problem calling today’s events “terrorism,” but here, they are “militants.” Whatever.

Gimme a few minutes to digest the story, and I’ll find the reason why Bush/the Iraq war/the International Jewish Conspiracy™ are to blame for a terrorist attack on India. For now, just remember that this is “no different” from our genocide of the “brown people.” :roll:

Via the Counterterrorism Blog, MSNBC is reporting “Possible al-Qaida link to India train attack”

NEW YORK — Indian intelligence believes the attacks on Mumbai’s commuter train network on Tuesday, killing scores during the evening rush hour, might be the work of Dawood Ibrahim, an Indian Muslim with ties to al-Qaida.

Ibrahim is believed to have been responsible for the 1993 attacks that killed 260 in Mumbai, India’s commercial hub formerly known as Bombay.

Two years ago, the U.S. Treasury Department designated Ibrahim as a terrorist as part of its international sanctions program — effectively forbidding U.S. financial entities from working with him and permitting seizure of any assets believed to be in his control.

Ibrahim also has financed operations of Lashkar e Taiba, the Kashmir separatist group, according to one U.S. official.
