My turn in Haditha
I’m just waiting to hear from a wise friend of mine before I unleash the dogs of war on this bullshi’ite idiotarian-driven Haditha story. In the meantime, while I try to compose myself before I end up committing blog suicide because of the Stupidity of the Internets, enjoy these links (I demand it!):
- A reporter’s shock at the Haditha allegations - yes, that’s CNN, believe it or not
- Drone’s video may aid Marine inquiry
- The party the Marines spoiled in Haditha (we should’ve just carpet-bombed the damn place)
- Ilario Pantano Speaks Out
- Utterly Ridiculous: Haditha
And of course, Martin and Vinnie’s posts, immediately preceding this one. Like Martin, I’m not ready to say much more yet without spitting out a bunch of obscenities. Short version: if (ignorant) people are going to stupidly try and prosecute this (and prematurely sentence them!) in the media and on the internets, I intend on speaking for the defense. But I’ll do it when I’m not quite so disgusted and pissed off at the Blogosphere Blowhards™. When I see blog diarrhea like the Marines should be “hanged” or put in front of “a firing squad,” especially from my own side, my blood boils.
As for me, I still believe in the idea of “innocent until proven guilty.” I also think those who defend America definitely deserve to enjoy those rights. To hell with this “fair and balanced” mother-hen bloviating from the armchair judges and juries on the internets, and the Time magazine asshats can burn in hell for feeding the enemy propaganda like Newsweek did.
I might not be a Marine, but I’ll still say this: SEMPER FI.

I stand with yah Beth! AND, I say, I don’t care WHY this happened.
The Islamafreakoids are just THAT- freaks. They kill us without a first or second thought.
The Marines are heroes, unlike the blowhards who speak so soon to condemn them.
E L Frederick says:
Damn right girl. Let the report be released before we start thinking about “burning the witch”.
It’s all too early. Let us get all the facts.
Cpl M says:
I’ve already let my dogs out to tear apart Murtha and his comments on Hathida. I hope you have better luck with the ididoths that comment than I did. Too many pissed my entire point. . .
Cpl M says:
Heh, I really meant “missed” but pissed works just as well.
Laney says:
You are very very very angry at the press and various members of Congress for repeating the information given them by Iraqi witnesses and leaked to them by off-the-record military investigators.
Will you be one tenth as angry at the Marines if the story about their murdering children proves to be substantially true?
Beth says:
Laney, you’re obviously free to read into my words whatever you want. All I ask is that they be given the “luxury” (right) to be innocent until proven guilty. It’s not just Murtha and the press, either: it’s blowhards on the internets on their sites AND in blog comments. A bunch of farkin’ know-nothings. If you think my statements mean I think killing innocents is OK, that’s YOUR prejudice, not mine.
Do you know what the Marines’ side of the story is? No, you don’t. There are two sides to every story, and the only side we have is what was reported by “civilians” from “insurgent” (terrorist) infested Haditha. If I had both stories to compare side by side, I’m certain I’d consider the word of a United States Marine to be the honest truth. But as it stands, YOU DON’T KNOW–none of us do–what their account of the incident is.
If they did go around on a killing spree against innocent civilians (which doesn’t seem terribly believable to me at this point), then yes I’ll be angry, but they WILL face severe consequences. There’s no need to call for their heads because 1) nobody knows shi’ite yet, and 2) if guilty, they will be punished.

I have two Leatherneck cousins, and what is being investigated in Haditha is not what they were trained to do. I will not presume to cast judgement on the Marines in Haditha. There is a reason for the expression war is hell. Decisions are made and executed with precision and w/o prejudice. None of us knows what happened - period. Hey msm and Murtha types, until something is determined through the investigation - shut up!
Diva says:
Beth, well said. I am shocked at the many “blog pundits” on the Right and Left who seem to have disregarded the right all citizens are afforded of “innocent until proven guilty” and simply want to crucify these guys before the investigation is completed. They’ve already judged and sentenced these Marines as guilty.
gnadfly says:
I’m all for innocent until proven guilty.
But sadly, I’d think we’d be MUCH further out of Iraq if we’d had just dropped a grenade in that spiderhole. Much further. And many, many more Iraqis would be alive.
What saddens me is you see reports of 5-10 people pulled from a wedding and then found beheaded a short time and distance later and no apparent outrage from the native population. But draw a bomb for a turban on some guy and embassies are set ablaze and nuclear threats are made.

Media Coverage of Haditha
I was getting myself all worked up again over the MSM coverage of the Haditha incident. When I got home from work and turned the news on the little news people were explaining how the ‘troubling situation’ has shaken the government all the way up to …

You don’t think its OK. But you think it’s important? We have two acts here, and two different reactions from conservative bloggers:
(1) Murtha and the press tell us what they have learned about the killings from witnesses and
leaking investigators.
(2)Murdering (Arab) children.
(1) fills you and the other conservative bloggers with righteous indignation. Y’all are very very very angry.
(2) If I pin you down, you say it’s not OK.
If (2) turns out to be true — and by now there are more than two or three witnesses — will you be as angry about (2) as about (1)? Will you fill your blog with angry denunciations of murder? If not, this will tell us something about your moral values. Whether you admit it to yourself or not, you think that repeating a story that discredits the military is worse than murdering Arab
children. And this tells us something about the conservative movement in Amerca
(Sorry about the multiple posts. I finally figured out that this system reads “less than” as EOF. )
raz0r says:
But if it not true, will the left be as indignant towards (1) Murtha, the media, and the other naysayers? I won’t hold my breath for that or for the apology.
