Aaron and I have emailed back and forth. No .htaccess to block netblocks would’ve helped here. The perp could’ve used an open proxy to get around that. He sent me some files he found on the server. They originated from a Russian hacker site. This perp hasn’t written any original code to crack the site that I’ve seen. Looks like he/she is just running scripts.
