Fiesta del Ningún Trabajo!
(OK, so maybe the Spanish* isn’t perfect. It’s been a while.)
As you probably know, hoy, 1ro de Mayo is the day everyone gets to play hooky, and probably won’t get fired because that would be RACIST. I plan on ignoring the entire thing–that’s the way you should always deal with spoiled, demanding juveniles–but if you care to follow the day’s events, Allahpundit will be keeping up with it and updating as the day progresses. I’d rather take a long siesta while the derelicts/derrelictos do their thing. Or better yet, I’ll boycott the Great Anti-American Boycott/El Gran Paro del 1ro de Mayo and do some power-shopping. Basically, the whole issue bores me to tears.
If those skipping work were my employees, I’d fire ‘em in a heartbeat. Of course, I wouldn’t be employing illegals, but I’ll bet the truants won’t even be illegal immigrants anyway. Just the usual professional delinquents, sponsored by one of the most evil organizations in America.
* not to imply that all illegals are Spanish-speaking, because they aren’t. But most are.

If you find that your local convenience store (or any other business, for that matter) is short-handed today, you might want to think carefully about whether or not you want to come back tomorrow, when their illegal workers will be back on the job. D…

President Bush likes to remind us “They come to do the jobs that Americans won’t do.” Except of course when they don’t show up. No whining if you’re fired on Tuesday, okay?
