Shorter Nina Burleigh: How dare they teach my 5 year-old child not to be angry and bitter like I am?
I’m not even going to bother with the bulk of this, because it’s boilerplate lefty crap, but this bit in particular is just plain bullshi’ite:
Finally, a burly, gray-bearded Vietnam veteran rose and said what no one else dared. After identifying himself, he choked out, “Kids, I just hope to God none of you ever have to experience what we went through.” Then he sat down, leaving a small pocket of shocked silence. No one applauded his effort at honesty. On the contrary, the hot gym air thickened with a tension that implicitly ostracized the man, and by extension — because we agreed with him — me and my husband.
Bitch, PLEASE. I’m certain every single person in the audience agreed with that man, especially the military parents. Nobody wants their kid to “have to experience what we (they) went through.” Nobody. What a farking clueless assclown. But this is what these arrogant ignoramuses really think–just look around the internets–that we live for war, and we raise our children to be bloodthirsty. How does our pride, gratitude, and love for America–childish and quaint as it may seem to her–make us eagerly look forward to the obvious hell of war? Apparently she’s “too sophisticated” to actually know any of the people among whom she lived. Everyone (in or who knows the military) knows that people in the armed forces don’t want war; we (I say “we” as a veteran) WANT peace. We just know that sometimes war happens, and that someone has to fight for America. War is always going to exist, and as the greatest nation ever on earth, it’s going to exist for Americans. Some of us know that although we want no conflicts at all, someone has to do the job.
Meanwhile, how much you want to bet Nina Burleigh and her ilk rationalize this? Or this? Certainly their parents teach them to be bitter and angry, too.

What a commie shrew. I can’t believe, yes I can, that she blamed Iraq’s problems on the US. And she take satisfaction that the new school has no flag and no recitation of the Pledge. Plus, she has no faith in America as nation. She moved to the city from the country, why not just move to France already.
