Uh-oh. Senate agrees immigration deal

When Bill Frist and Harry Reid agree on something, there’s a very good chance that you won’t. But no matter, they are our betters, as Cynthia ‘Slugger’ McKinney will attest.
“I think we’re looking like we may be able to dance this afternoon,” Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada told reporters.
Isn’t that wonderful? The two dimmest bulbs in the Senate are going to do the robot for us. (Why are those two in charge by the way, is there some sort of requirement that the leaders be double-digit IQs?) .
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, a Tennessee Republican, appeared with Reid and said “We have a great opportunity to deliver to the American people what they expect, what they deserve,” a comprehensive border security and immigration reform bill.
Or, as he might more candidly have said “”We have a great opportunity to deliver to the American people what they expect, what they deserve, a comprehensive border security and immigration reform bill, but we won’t. We’re going to create a fudge and put the problem off for another ten years. Like we did last amnesty, I mean reform”.

I’ve just written my Representative to fight this when the conference report comes up for a vote!
It’s 1986 all over again. . .

Beth,
You might appreciate this. It was going to be a submission to an online publication, but I ended up turning it into a blog post instead. It’s an argument for why open borders is ultimately a violation of the idea of individual sovereignty.
