Coalition Forces rescue three peace activists
Everyone probably already knows about the Christian Peacemaker Team hostages Harmeet Singh Sooden, Jim Loney and Norman Kember being rescued. And I’m sure you’ve seen the reports from the mainstream media and the CPT web site by now.
Here’s the report from MNF-Iraq (excerpt):
By Spc. Jeremy Pitcher
Multi-National Force – IraqThree Christian peace activists held hostage since late November were rescued at approximately 8 a.m. this morning in downtown Baghdad by Coalition Forces, according to the Multi-National Force – Iraq spokesman.
Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch said Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32, and Briton Norman Kember, 74, were in
good condition and have received medical evaluations. The operation was carried out by Coalition troops, Lynch said.
“We detained two suspects this morning, the detainees gave us intelligence that led us to the rescue of the three hostages,” Lynch said during an afternoon press conference. The hostages were rescued only three hours after Coalition Forces received the intelligence, Lynch said.
In that time, the troops determined the intelligence was credible then planned and executed the mission, he added.
Lynch would not go into great detail because he did want to reveal any information that might jeopardize future rescues.
Good job, guys!

Andrew of Arabia says:
Instead of thanking the occupiers for delivering his three CPT members from captivity, co-chairman Pritchard chose instead to blame the “occupiers” for all the evils of the known world. Equating Western soldiers in Iraq with the spawns of Satan, Mr. Pritchard suggested that his team was more comfortable in the clutches of the oppressed terrorists than now, when they are forcibly subjected to freedom. We can thank the Almighty for their successful deliverance.
