They are going to protest a funeral

I actually think this would qualify for White Trash Wednesday, if only for the people pulling off these things. BLACKFIVE has the rundown on how a soldier who gave his life in Iraq defending American ideals, is how having his house vandalized, and Fred Phelps (who has no connection to any Christ that I’ve ever known) is coming to the funeral.
Luckily, the Indiana legislature passed a funeral protest bill making disorderly conduct within 500 feet of a funeral a felony. BLACKFIVE urges Indiana residents to call or email the Governor to sign the bill. Details at his site.

Like I said on Blackfive, I campaigned for Mitch, I know Mitch, and I can’t imgine him not signing that bill.
Mamacita says:
Mitch hates education, but if he signs this bill, he’s not as bad as I thought. Phelps has been in Indiana before, you know. He and his brainless ilk were here last fall. And whenever I hear his organization called a “church,” my brain, soul, and heart all throw up a little. My mother had to walk past his people to get to her church last fall, and those people are the kind you just don’t want your mother to ever have to see. And yet, if people don’t SEE these protestors, they won’t truly believe how awful they are.
Chris says:
There is a fine line between freedom of speech and allowing people to defame an innocent man’s character. This is a travesty. What ever happened to supporting your country, right or wrong?
