Something very remarkable is happening around the globe and, if you want the short version, a Muslim demonstrator in Toronto the other day put it very well:
”We won’t stop the protests until the world obeys Islamic law.”
Stated that baldly it sounds ridiculous. But, simply as a matter of fact, every year more and more of the world lives under Islamic law: Pakistan adopted Islamic law in 1977, Iran in 1979, Sudan in 1984. Four decades ago, Nigeria lived under English common law; now, half of it’s in the grip of sharia, and the other half’s feeling the squeeze, as the death toll from the cartoon jihad indicates. But just as telling is how swiftly the developed world has internalized an essentially Islamic perspective. In their pitiful coverage of the low-level intifada that’s been going on in France for five years, the European press has been barely any less loopy than the Middle Eastern media.
What exactly IS it going to take for the world to wake up? Iran using nukes? Will Iran nuking Israel still not be enough? Read the whole thing.

The ‘religion of peace’ is about the most shocking misnomer that one could ever apply to Islam. Islam means ’submission’, I understand, not ‘peace’ as the NYT would have you believe.
We are on the verge of a new clash of civlizations (well, one civilization and one giant, brutal jungle), and the astonisihng thing is that the usual suspects speak in the language of our sworn enemies. Michael Moore and Osama Bin laden are barley distinguishable when spouting their paranoid anti-American hysterical shi’ite.
At every crucial juncture throughout history the appeasers and the intellectual elites have sagely told those who see a threat for what it is, that we are simpletons and barbarians, without subtlety, understanding or finesse. And every farking time, they’ve been dead wrong.
If the academic left were measured by the standards of stock-pickers and horseracing tipsters, they’d be laughed off the set every time they came on tv.
But antique media wheel them out and listen to their vacillations and criticisms of America, and treat them as though once in a while they’ve actually been right!!
I give up.
