Cartoons printed in Egyptian newspaper Al Faqr

I’m a little late posting this, but if you missed it yesterday, my good friend Sandmonkey found that the EGYPTIAN newspaper Al Faqr published The Twelve Cartoons™ back in October. Where’s the boycott? Where’s the outrage? Is it only reserved for the West?

Yeah, I thought so.

Freedom For Egyptians reminded me why the cartoons looked so familiar to me: they were actually printed in the Egyptian Newspaper Al Fagr back in October 2005. I repeat, October 2005, during Ramadan, for all the egyptian muslim population to see, and not a single squeak of outrage was present. Al Fagr isn’t a small newspaper either: it has respectable circulation in Egypt, since it’s helmed by known Journalist Adel Hamoudah. Looking around in my house I found the copy of the newspaper, so I decided to scan it and present to all of you to see.

See Sandmonkey’s post for photos of the newspaper and more details. What a find!

And where is the US media on this story?

(crickets)

Well, at least it was in the Belgian press (also here, but I don’t have the link to the actual story–it was linked in Sandmonkey’s comments).

Sorry, all I have is the Babelfish translation, which sucks, but you get the point:

The objected to Danish cartoons concerning the prophet appeared already in October in the egyptische newspaper Al-Faqr without there a c*ck crowed to. That letter two egyptische bloggers. On its site blogger Sandmonkey show several pages from the newspaper, with the date. Also on Freedom for Egyptians the news stands read.

Outstanding work, Sandmonkey!

    Poor Pitiful Mohammad

His followers are certainly an embarrassment, not only to themselves, but to their prophet!

Below is a graphic of Mohammed that is hitting the Internet widely. It’s historically accurate and deserves some further publicity. If you will, I think our Muslim friends should see this work so they can make rational objections to it if they have any.

    Thank you, Dag.

And apparently they have started to attack several thousand Danish and Western websites over this. How long do you think it will be before they are start to actually hurt and kill people in non-Islamic countries over this?
