No Malaise Here, Either
Well, except for malaise about my blog
Brian Maloney (writing at Michelle Malkin’s) is among the few rare bloggers on the right who isn’t feeling “malaise.” Glad to hear it, because I don’t get all the gloominess either. He lists out several reasons why he’s “instead upbeat,” and I’ve got a few reasons to add to his list of good things going for Republicans/the right.
1. Bush and the RNC are (finally) fighting back against the persistent lies spewed by the left. I’d like to think that “one of our own,” Patrick Ruffini, being hired by the RNC has something to do with their re-energization, but whatever it is, it works for me. [UPDATE: Cheney counterpunches the left, too.]
2. Samuel Alito. Need I say more?
3. Absolutely no agenda on the left except for “unhinged” Bush Derangement Syndrome, including Democratic office-holders (including former ones). Their hysteria and lies are being exposed as the frauds that they are, and this exposure is picking up steam.
4. There IS good news in Iraq and the greater war on Islamofascism, despite the constant “mainstream” media focus on the negative. Ask someone who’s there, and as we all have heard, they’ll tell you that what you see in the news isn’t representative of reality.
5. Finally, some attention being paid to legal lunacy on the federal bench–specifically, the 9th Circuit Court (”9th Circus”).
These are just some I’m adding to Maloney’s list, with which I concur fully.
Time to get in campaign mode, y’all–and not for 2006, for today. My suggestion, just for starters: drop the silly withholding of donations to the RNC; NOW is the time to donate, when they’re looking like they’re back in fighting form. Reward them for doing things our way–fact-checking the left’s asses–by sending in even a small donation, and if you can’t do that, then email them pushing them to continue doing it that way.
I don’t know about you all, but when I know I’m right on the issues, I don’t let the other side drag me down. Nor should you. And we damn sure ought not let them drive the agenda, especially when the agenda is “no agenda.”

UPDATE 2: From the comments, Larry writes:
Speaking from the scene I am amazed at what I see on CNN, and read in the papers. We are KICKING their asses over here. Of course I can’t get into specifics, but when the truth comes out the MSM will be better served by becoming like the National Enquirer. No one will believe them. PASS THE WORD; the win here is so huge that the democratic party risks being completely destroyed if they continue in their extreme distortions. I can’t believe the news they are spreading…amazing how full of lies it is.

I haven’t been in anything closely related to a malaise, anywhere. I’ve actually been really supahappy about the whole “having more than 2 readers” and being able to yammer away on somebody else’s blog for once.
and yes, I agree with that list. it’s what I’ve been talking about for a while now. getting back to the basics, and being Conservative. when the leaders start acting like they won? that pulls out the malaise.

You’re right about the good news. But, I gotta tell ya, I’m thinking you wrote this before the Senate Republicans caved in yesterday. What a staggering bunch of jackasses.
