   I like that GW mentioned Korea. Along with WWI (and Vet’s Day was originally Armistice Day), those pieces of history are being forgotten.

   The people who are most responsible for bringing peace to this world are our veterans. These who are trained to go into harms way and pay the ultimate price are the ones who we owe our freedom and prosperity. When we cease to give them the moral, financial and technical support they need, our society will fall. So let me say here Thank you and thank God for you who serve and have served in the US Military.

   On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the President of the United States, George W. Bush, once again snubbed and then insulted veterans. Is any one surprised? Not this Vet!

   Traditionally, the Commander in Chief places a wreath at the Tomb of the Unkowns in Arlington National Cemetery. It is considered a duty that the CINC performs to reassure his troops that they will be remembered for their service and sacrifice. Today that didn’t happen. Today those “Honored Dead” were sent the second string.

   Instead, G. W. Bush gave a political speech in Pennsylvania, not to honor vets, but to explain how much progress has been made in his failed war on Iraq. How much progress has been made? He did use troops as a backdrop and maybe that will boost his abysmal ratings!

   The man who did not finish out his contract with the Air National Guard did make veterans and those who still serve a promise. Was it for better health care, higher G.I. Bill allowances, help to keep young soldiers with families off of food stamps, concurrent receipt for those wounded in combat, or even removal of Defense Secretary Rumsfeld, the biggest single contributor to poor moral in the Armed Forces today? NO! It was his promise to urge the Congress to pass a flag burning amendment to the Constitution.

   That’s what we veterans need, a failure such as he messing with the document we swore to defend. It’s worked well enough for over 200 years without his help, maybe we should keep it that way. But, then a feel good promise as opposed to actually doing something for service members and veterans is what we have come to expect!

    First off, I guess you’re going to have to look elsewhere, then. We ARE veterans, in fact, I’m a disabled veteran (I’ve time in hot zones too, since that’s SO important to you) and Mac was wounded in action in Iraq (he’s now stateside). So take that ASSumption and shove it.

    And personally, THIS veteran is OVERJOYED that Bush did what he did. He DID honor veterans, and more importantly, considering we’re at war, the active duty military by slapping back at the LIARS. I can think of nothing more appropriate than coming out and stating AGAIN that this war our troops are fighting in is a JUST WAR.

    “Your revolution is over. Condolences. The (BDS) bums lost.”

    Thanks for your service. Please don’t let your BDS interfere with the active duty military, though. It’s only fair, since you presumably didn’t have to deal with that bullshi’ite when you were in.

    Let me guess. You support the troops but not the war. And how exactly do you REALLY support the troops, besides denigrating their mission and service? Do you support Soldiers’ Angels or any of the other hundreds of military support organizations? Try here: America Supports You. Put your damn money where your mouth is.

    maybe I’ll just say, um, that I’m the king of france, and I own a rocket ship that can travel through time. and I’m 7 feet tall.

    cause buddy, as much as you talk a good game about serving your country, I never heard of ya. so, until you SHOW me that you’re any of those things, there’s just NO way I can believe you.

    Banditops, I don’t know where you get the info to base your comments on, but I can tell you that going into my 29th year of service, I haven’t seen morale this high. matter of fact the lowest I ever saw it was during Carter’s time in office follwed by Clinton’s. You must be competeing in the moronathon this weekend.
