Return of the Moonbats?

I was working on a piece in my head this morning after hearing about the Democrat’s response to the latest pick by President Bush for the Supreme Court. I noticed that it was every bit a vitriolic as I’d come to know and expect whenever Conservatism was put in use. It was annoying, but familiar.
It is that feeling, like the tiredness of the runners legs, that made me feel better about this pick. I was not overly impressed with the Miers pick, but I was willing to wait it out, and see the process work. Somewhere along the road, either through the hubris of Bush, Rovian mastery of the body politick, or because enough wingnut blogs whined loud and strong enough, Miers stepped down. Now we have another pick.
The interesting thing about white male #2, is that there is rabid opposition from the Left. Like, real, loud, mean, opposition. The type of vitriol that would only come if the nominee was that much of a threat. Alito represents all that scares the Left the most: he’s an obvious conservative, who is assumed to be anti-Roe vs. Wade. In addition, he’s Catholic, and…oh, right, all he has to be is Catholic for them to hate him.
I was wondering, to myself, about the Moonbat Masquerade from The Gray Tie. Frankly, the amount of moonbattery had sunk to unacceptably indecipherable quiet. I was worried that it was just going out of style. However, today at The American Princess, she was doing “Blog Like A Liberal Day.” Predictably…or really, unpredictably, the combination of baiting and the SCOTUS pick have driven out the moonbats.
Truly, Beth was wondering and asked me what I was doing to draw them in. Seriously, I’ve been trying. If you’ve wondered what the stories about military and Christianity were doing here, besides being newsworthy (except when the only reason the story exists is to make fun of the dead), is because they are meant to sharpen the argument. I did the Pillars, and continue, because I want to hold those values as what they are.
In that same vein, I want to pull out the people who think those crazy thoughts. The people that really sound like this. And I think that, mainly because of the strength of this pick, then well be seeing many unhappy of the moonbatry, coming to the defense of the indefensible. I will enjoy this.

Mac,
Reports out of Iraq indicate that 7 more US soldiers were killed yesterday and there was a huge bombing in Basra today where at least 20 were killed. In addition, reports from administration insiders describe an indictment of Rove as “imminent.” The GOP congress has decided to give Exxon Mobil (who already has $27 billion in cash) another $2.5 Billion of our tax dollars as part of the energy bill while paying for Katrina reconstruction by cutting school lunches for 40,000 children and cutting your grandmother’s health insurance. Better pick up the pace of you postings on Alito to keep your compliant readers focused on that rather than the series of disasters facing themselves, the administration and our country. Keep it up, Mac, and good luck!!!

phil, have you got no idea what “proving my point” means? HAH
1. after the 7 US casualties, you forgot to put “YAAAAY!!!!!!!”
2. how long are you guys gonna keep on masturbating to that dream of getting Rove? seriously? how long?
3. Guess you don’t care about taxes Big Oil pays. nope. you’re just upset that middle class kids can’t get breakfasts in the summer.
4. my grandmother died in 1996. yet another thing you’ve got wrong.
5. I have the ability to type my website address correctly in the blocks, too.
I would love to argue things with someone from the “reality-based” crowd, it’s just that, for some
