Yes, I’m here, but I’ve been reading. I’m just going to post some links to the stuff I’m reading for now. I might update this, I might not.
First: Charles Krauthammer writes in the WaPo, “Withdraw This Nominee.” Beldar bites back in Harriet Miers’ defense.
- • Interesting point raised in comments about other justices retiring; see this, this, this, and more about the possibility of Justice John Paul Stevens stepping down–eventually. He is 85 years old. Might this be the thing that makes Miers “the most qualified” for the job? She doesn’t seem to be a “moderate,” as Bainbridge predicted, but she’s not bringing on a fight from the left, either.

It just flat out amazes me that bloggers and other alleged “pundits” are offended when the President of the United States does not take their advice. Time for some folks to take a break from things, I think.
