Linky love
A couple quick things to post that you need to see:
* Cindy Sheehag is a pathetic lying fruitcake. (I know, no shi’ite.) Must read: this this up-close account of her Deadhead “Bring them Home” Tour stop in Columbia, SC, from Amy, who says “Cindy Sheehan Doesn’t Speak For Me.” (Via Hooah Wife)
* Sign the petition from Stop the ACLU, if you haven’t already! Link to the actual petition is right here.
The petition is designed to encourage Congress to put an end to the abused and misused mechanism in the law as its been written since 1976, by which the ACLU (and like-minded groups) often get large awards of attorney’s fees for suing town after town and city after city over things like displays of the Ten Commandments, or a Christmas display. The threat of a likely award of attorney’s fees under 42 USC 1988 before judges friendly to the ACLU often causes local governments to cave to the ACLU without a fight, even when public interest law firms offer to defend the cities for free (a good example is what happened in the case of the L.A. County seal).
* The 116th Bonfire of the Vanities is up at File it Under! Also, hosts are needed from October 4th on, so if you want to host and exercise your snark muscles, email Kevin Aylward.
* Another demonstration of delicious snark: The Carnival of the Clueless! Regular readers of mine will probably guess who made an appearance in this week’s edition at the Nuthouse–after all, “ur” a smart crowd. ;-)
* basil is reviving the blog interviews that used to be done at Jennifer’s History and Stuff. He’s got the schedule up, and he’s soliciting questions for those who have agreed to be interviewed! (Having been through this before at Jennifer’s, I’ll just say BE NICE.) ;-) If you want to be interviewed, get on the schedule by emailing basil at this address.
* Don’t forget, it’s Cotillion day!
